They even sent it to my wife and she doesn’t even use NS. It’s gotta be them tracking her phone in close proximity to mine. What’s that called again?

eheathIf you think IKON is ruining skiing, you need some new priorities in life.
CamJeppMy main priority in life is skiing. When I have to wait 45 minutes in a lift line for every single lap, after a 2 hour drive up the canyon which is usually 30 minutes (oh btw you can def get into the canyon without traffic. But you end up sitting at the resort waiting an hour or two for lifts to spin 🤷♂️) on a day when it hasn’t snowed in a week, it makes me want to just fucking quit the sport altogether. The insane overcrowding (in my case, of the cottonwoods) can absolutely be attributed to ikon pass holders. And it’s completely ruining the experience for me, someone who lives, sweats, and breaths skiing. Collective passes like IKON and EPIC will be the death of the “local” skier. Everyone who’s serious about the sport will turn to the skin track. Resorts will become more luxurious, more expensive, and people getting a taste of the resorts bc of IKON will move to ski towns and drive the cost of living up, pushing out the locals who’ve made endless amounts of sacrifice to do this sport that we’re so in love with. It’s sad to see the canyons overrun. And it’s sad to see you act as if IKON/EPOC has zero effect on the skiing experience for EVERYONE who shows up to those resorts. Have fun with your 2 hour long lines in 2025

@LANTASKITbh I just don’t want beaters from out of state skiing my cottonwood canyons
@LANTASKIThis 100%
I’ve skied only 13 days this year because the overcrowding by Kooks rocking Sprinter vans have ruined the wasatch
eheathI really hope this is just a joke. Beaters have been skiing the cottonwoods since way before either of us moved to utah brother, imagine what it was like before the olympics.

eheathJust to add, alterra has been advertising the IKON pass on NS since it came out, how did you just notice this now? Sounds like you don't look at NS very often.
BigPurpleSkiSuitNumber of beaters is reaching critical levels.

eheathSays the guy who moved to utah recently... im not saying im better but you gotta understand that your statement could be said for people like you too, SLC's population doubled from 2010 to 2020, either embrace it or leave thats all you can do.
BigPurpleSkiSuitHow about people who live here ski here and not every single person from California and other surrounding states flying in on pow days with Ikon passes

eheathI don't think the passes make a big difference for these people, if they can afford to fly anywhere at the drop of a hat, they'll just buy a day pass 🤷♂️
BigPurpleSkiSuitI'm all for any ad revenue this site can scrape together.
ReturnToMonkeyNS is the only site i have whitelisted on ublock origin. It's pretty annoying having to watch long ass ads for videos only for a youtube ad to play next, but for the amount that ive gained from using this site, it's worth it. Thanks NS

Profahoben_212Lol dude you live in a multi million person city with skiing ~30 minutes away and you're surprised that there is traffic when the only way up the canyon is a shitty 2 lane road, they are limiting parking, and the popularity of all outdoor sports is exploding due to covid?
Its not to blame on the Ikon dog. Its just the situation and the rising popularity of skiing. Skiing has blown up in popularity multiple times throughout its history, it will slow down again....then you can have lifts
Do you know what the real problem i saw when I was there? The 'locals'. A solid 8/10 cars that we saw in traffic were solo people. Solo people arent ikooks taking a trip with the fam. They are mostly 'local' salt lake skiers. Learn to carpool salt lake. you could halve the traffic problem.
Also this post is dripping with elitism. Only you are allowed in the canyons because you're a true local? gimme a break. you're adding to the traffic just as much as anyone else.
Dont get me wrong when the Ikon came for tahoe it was easy to blame the crowds and shit show on the pass. Then I realised that the issue is still the same ole same. We live next to the bay and in one of the most popular ski destinations in the world. Traffic and families taking ski trips is a part of living there. If you don't want that, be a 'real' core skier and move to mt. Boho or something.
vibecheckim not reading this so... sorry or congrats..
CamJepplmfao you don’t know me dawg. I work up at the bird and carpool with two other coworkers every single damn day that we’re scheduled. And I don’t even have enough money to own snow tires. Or to afford driving my personal vehicle up the canyon for ski days. I prolly ride the bus 8/10 times that I ski. And I can’t fucking afford to move.
CamJeppJust timed this shit. Took me a solid 45 seconds to read. Just don’t respond next time if you’re actually not interested in reading what I have to say
BigPurpleSkiSuitBased on liftlines and canyon lines alone, I'd say the passes have made a difference. Maybe part of it's COVID year, but Ikon pass has definitely made a difference. I think the logical solution is to have to reserve your Ikon days ahead of time. That's a compromise right there, still get Ikon dollars, and also make sure that powder days aren't hour long lifelines.
eheathYou chose the ski bum lifestyle my dude.

CamJeppDude don’t be a fucking douche bag. Literally the only way I could afford any season pass was by getting one for free by working at a resort. I had to choose between being able to afford my next two months of rent or purchasing a damn ski pass. My parents aren’t rich. And I’m fucking poor. I make sacrifices to be able to ride lifts. Similar to a ton of other born and bred locals that have no other option.
