Anyone dabble in crypto? Or is it a terrible idea?

I've joined some developer networks for some of the cryptos, and I'm dabbling. All my older relatives think it's stupid but I can see a lot of utility in the distributed leger. Anyone else dipping a toe?

Honestly, I'm sure there's beautiful aspects of it but I havent really heard anything aside from terrible things about South Africa. And a lot of those things came from the mouths of my South African friends lol.

Woah that’s crazy that every other currency in the world combined has a big CO2 impact than a currency that only a small set of people “use.” Not that anyone ever really buys anything besides a Tesla with Bitcoin.

i cashed out enough to cover my initial investment/taxes, bought some cool shit, but most of my money and my rational self says we’re still going up 3x

I bought Axie Infinity at 20 bucks and it’s at 90 now. I opened my crypto wallet today and let’s just say boys holy kris kringle. I’m making a lot of fucking money and living a very good life🤠

That’s what im hoping for. To make a super generalization, alts are growing at a rate of almost 2x/month. At least the ones im looking at, VET, XRP... im hoping to continue this rate for a couple months, then if my portfolio doubles overnight i’m taking like 30%. Yes 120-150k BTC and $10k is very popular prediction.

But idk tho not financial advice

here’s some financial advice though: start doing your taxes. Get an estimate how much you owe/need to cash out to pay, or how you can loss harvest. It’s critical to get this done b4 new year. Lets say you end up owing $16k in taxes, if price crashes in December you can loss harvest to minimize gains. But if you owe $16k but dont figure it out til march and your crypto balance crashes to $5k, well...
