Let me start this off by saying I dont really know shit about shit, I just pay people to do the shit for me, which clearly puts me in a position where I just gotta trust that people did a good job unless something is visibly or obviously not looking correct. Also, Im stoned.
I just got some skis mounted up and got them put at true center. doing my measurements at home afterwards to double check that everything looks good, i realize that with pivots, theres more hardware in the toe piece than the heel piece (length). Because of this, for a true center mount, there is less ski in front of the binding from tip of toe piece to tip of ski, than there is from back of heel piece to end of tail. Most other bindings have a lot more length in their heel piece, making this not be the case r.e. amount of ski infront of the toe piece and behind the heel piece. Does this in effect make it so the skis are mounted in front of center? not by much, but a little? The center of my boot sole is right on the true center mark on the skis, so the tech did exactly what I asked him to do, but im curious now if what ive mentioned above is correct, or am I tweaking?
Its not my first pair of center mounted pivots, but this is the first time ive thought about this.
