Slalom racers go through skis faster than any other discipline. Lots of tuning and base burn.

Super-G and DH racers keep their skis for years because of all the waxing that is done to them to keep them fast. You often see World Cup racers with skis are that about two years old for this very reason.

DolansLebensraumHirscher and that whore michaela both ride atomic redsters so they are obv great sticks but head seems to rack up alot more points total with the finish results of gs and sg and dh races. Maybe this is just bc head sponsors more fis skiers but i have a suspicion that head skis may be superior. But who cares they are probably both insane skis

For the amount of times i plan on posting about how it is very likely that no future “non fluoro” ski wax will ever match the glide performance of any old fluoro wax, it would probably be in the best interest of swix and toko and purl and holmenkol to fucking murder my ass to avoid billions of dollars in sales losses as the entire world is dolan-informed that the fluoro wax ppl buy from underground plants in china is better plus it will piss of the environment-nazis.

Why does slalom dull the edges more than gs and sg? I could understand dh bc they are tracking more but from watching gs races they seem to be shaving ice just as much as in slalom.

Just tons of reps. And they sharpen the skis alll the time. My kids run out of edge after one or two seasons. We shave the sidewalls down to get more life out of the edge. (Slalom are set at 3 degrees) Plus the skis lose their pop.

Also—the skis above are not necessarily World Cup race-room skis. My 16 year old skis on FIS skis—but they are not WC skis. The consumer FIS skis are likely more durable. FIS just means it fits the required measurements for that competition.

Many of the racers have preferred flex for their skis—so they get special attention to make sure the camber is just right for them. They also get tons of wax. The wax work cannot be underestimated.
