Best ski/bindings for me?

hey NS,

My 2019 chronics+sth2 13s are delamming from too many hard landings and I'm in search of a new pair to replace them with. I'm 18yrs old 120 lbs and have been riding park for a few years but still fairly beginner level with tricks bc I got no balls. I am a pretty decent skier and do a bit of teaching occasionally.

I'm based in Ontario and with current sales going on right now, my options are
chronics for 440,
menace 98s for 380,
arv 96s for 500

bindings wise sth2 13s are 300 and attack 13s are 270.

all prices are cad and for 2021 models

Right now I'm leaning towards the menace 98s as they're so cheap right now and I want something heavier and more durable than my current chronics. Bindings wise I'll probably stick to using STHs as they've never let me down so far but willing to consider attacks. Don't like pivots or markers due to the huge heel.

In the park I pretty much send straight airs off 40-50s and throw 180-360s off 30s and under. Don't do rails although am trying to learn to. On piste, I ski fairly fast and aggressive carved turns on most terrain, and also like to hit the trees whenever I get the chance. I get like 10 days a year cuz its ontario and skiing here kinda sucks.

Not really picky as far as skis go but it's important that they last awhile cuz I don't want to get a new pair every year. I really like how my current chronics ski but sometimes they seem to get pushed around by rougher snow. Also need skis that can hold an edge well as its icy half the time here.

K2 poachers and bentchetlers come to mind when you want something that can ski park and take bigger jumps but also be fun in the groomers and trees

Unfortunately poachers and bent chetlers are sold out everywhere here otherwise I would definitely try to get those. Did find revolt 95s for 400 though.

I’ve heard good things about the revolts and I think you said you can get arv96s. I was just recommending the other 2 because I’ve actually skied those a little

I have prolly 100 days on my sths2 13s and they are holding up great. Seem to release when they should. Most people seem to have good experiences with them

Hey OP,

I have Chronics now. Had Revolt 95s before. I saw that you mentioned both in this thread.

The Chronics have a more noticeable camber in them. The revolts feel a bit more burly. They can push through rough snow a bit better. Not the BEST, but better than the Chronics and decently for a ski it’s weight.

I would say the revolts feel a bit more solidly made than the Chronics. They carve well and like to play in the trees, light snow, etc. They’re actually a really fun ski (for their width) for a bit of fresh snow. Only thing I don’t like is the butter zone behind the heel. I felt like the ski didn’t give me enough support sometimes when I landed backseat. The Chronics are way better about this.

Chronics feel more lively, Revolts feel more solid (if that makes sense?)

For reference, I’m 5’8” 160lbs.

Anyways, that’s just my 2 cents.
