So I tweaked my right knee the last time I was out skiing, I've skied on it since and didn't feel any pain, but the pain comes full force when I'm down and try to get upright only using my knees. I'm not a big fan of asking the NS doctors if I'm OK to ski, but I'm going to go buy a brace before I ski today, and it made me wonder, do any of you people ski with knee braces regularly?
I have used a knee brace for like 15 years, but it was after ACL post op and coverd by health insurance.
I have also used neoprene sleeves on my knees when I wanted a little support when they arent feeling 100%. I think those are more placebo then anything though.
I have been in a knee brace for a very long time (ACL and MCL injuries). For years I was in a CTI3 custom brace. I switched over to a Donjoy Armor brace. I like it a lot better...
You do you but definitely go see a sports med doctor to assess for any ligament sprains or tears. Just cuz you're mobile doesn't mean you didn't fuck something up. Knees are complex. They might even be able to give you some exercises to strengthen that area if nothing is torn.
