Anyone here worked with/on the bristle-style artificial ski slope material? Does it roll well? How heavy/bulky is it? Considering buying some lengths of it for off-season street bangers.
Barring that does anyone know some good makeshift materials? I have a theory about astro-turf but it is untested

1. Astro turf/slow when it's hot gotta bring lots of water and soap, lots of edge control
2. Super thick construction/garden fencing like 5mm. make sure it's super rigid for maximum speed, cheap not much edge control
3. Plastic lattice fencing: best bet is puting on inrun for speed then transfer to turf.
4. I've see some plastic turf door matts more on the expensive side but similar to msnow.
5. Snow rink
6. msnow
Good luck trying to do street in the summer..imo build a portable summer setup and you then you can grab snow from a rink to build a lip to hit street if you want.
You’ll probably have more fun just building a summer setup instead of trying to slide a street rail in 80 degrees while you fall off early and try not to wreck yourself on concrete

So I am thinking about building a summer setup in my yard. I have a natural slope and a flat afterwards. I was thinking about using turf and staking it into the ground. Would that work? It has about 25ish foot downhill where the drop in would be

You really want something rigid underneath the turf, to decrease amount friction, i was able to get away with this (depend how steep the slope is). One of my setups I used two pallets and built them into the side of a hill to increase speed. Laid some turf down on top of some plywood and then used some cinderblocks to build a lip with some more plywood.

just gotta play around and experiment.
Ok, is it because of the speed. I have about a 25 foot run up and it is pretty steep. Should I still try to put something under the turf?
