Replying to Girl Disappointment Story
I work washing dishes at night so I can pay for school and skiing during the day. Not glamorous but it’s a good life.
the other day I come in to work. Usual night. Pretty busy. It’s now lent so people are calling non stop to get fish fries. Turns out my boss hired someone new just to handle takeout.
now of course she’s flaming hot. Like I know people say don’t get involved with coworkers but damn.
ends up being a slow night for takeout so she started helping me out with the dishes to take some of the load off. Super nice of her. Naturally we got to talking and we had a lot in common. We both love the outdoors and subarus and the same music. I was showing her where the garbage goes and she wanted to check out my car. I started it up for her and we both laughed at how loud it is.
anyways it almost felt like a first date. She asked me if I did any sports or anything so that’s when I knew it was my opportunity to unleash the ultimate test: could she ski. I told her I was a passionate skier and I loved skiing more than being alive most days. I braced for the sentence “oh I’ve always wanted to try that” or “my parents used to ski” or “I tried it once when I was a kid”. But no, no my friends. What I got was SO much worse. I felt a half chub coming on as she said “oh no way I...” and then my heart dropped as I heard the word SNOWBOARD.
that was it. My hopes and dreams gone just like that. I went home and thought about it. Maybe it could work? But no. There is no way the time we would spend together would ever offset the hours of my life I would spend waiting for her to take her bindings on and off.
im writing to you from my toilet. I share this tale as a warning and a contemplation for all skiers snowboarders aren’t worth it
