Nuno812We use them for work. Nothing wrong with someone show/toy truck but I tow 14k daily and trust me you don’t want to hit a hill with that in a gasser.
r00kieCountry: haul stuff around, work. Actually use it.
Suburbia: compensation
City: need for attention, even if its bad attention.
I would love to have taco/ranger sized truck just for the convience of a bed for camping and stuff but hate driving full size. I do not understand people who daily drive one w/o the need to.
safarisamObviously you want a Duramax. Next truck i get will likely be a 2500, my Colorado is a joke even with the tow kit. I haul too much ranch trailers to keep a small truck.
LonelyUp in the U.P. there are groups of people we like to call gibs. Gibs are people who usually grew up in wealthy, suburban areas but now that they are in a rural area they feel like they don't fit in with the working man. To compensate they wear steel toes and camo, talk with an accent and drive a 60,000 dollar truck that mom and dad paid for. It's all an act to seem working class. This makes them "country" just like everyone else, and they don't have to feel uncomfortable being a kid who went to private school in a poor, rural area.
I always hated that. If you grew up with money, and you are a decent person, it's not your fault. You don't have to act poor or working class. If you've ever met anyone who has come from poverty or a rural area, it's usually not something they brag about or flaunt around. At least not in the north/midwest.

Jemsi don’t ever see any v6 trucks towing, maybe a sled on the bed.

CatdickBojanglesCummins are 6 cylinder.
Jemsi wasn’t talking about diesels i meant the tacoma and colorado
r00kieSo the brand new, chromed out GMC Denali doesn't actually fit in? I get wanted to try to fit in or being modest about wealth but yeah, a 60 grand truck won't do that up north lol.
safarisamIt works but i can’t say I recommend it. My sled trailer is fine, the 16ft trailer is okay but not the greatest depending on what it’s loaded with.
CatdickBojanglesYeah I got you. I’d be stoked to see the hilux make it to America. The body style already has but the diesel motors have not. It’s the most popular truck in the world and pretty damn competent at just about everything whether it’s towing an anti aircraft gun or small artillery, carrying the boys to commit jihad or picking up groceries.
Jemsat least dodge and chevy have introduced small turbo diesels
.frenchyayye my kinda thread :')

mystery3Are you rocking the baby duramax or a gasser? I had a '16 with the baby duramax and that thing was great! The engine anyway, the transmission was typical slush box trash and the build quality decidedly GM but the thing could tow and haul a lot for such a small rig.
Right now I'm considering a Toyota HiAce truck/Dyna 150 or something tiny like a Suzuki Carry. Only manual transmission 4x4 until I'm able to go full electric.
TOAST.Cuz if you get into an accident you want to make sure you kill the other person
byuboundI'm running the babymax colorado and honestly am kinda regretting it right now. Seems like it's honestly having emmisions system issues

safarisamI have a ‘16 gas Colorado, ex didn’t like Diesel engines so I opted out of it. Can still haul pretty well, the sled trailer is just fine on it. Really haven’t had issues with it other than issues caused by me being a dumbass.
CaseyMy main pain point with my Tacoma is that it just isn’t rated to haul very much weight. I had a bunch of sandbags in it for work the other day and the ass end was like literally bottomed out and the bed rails were starting to stress. It’d be nice to be able to load it up with rock or whatever and not worry that it’s completely maxed out.
SuspiciousFishBoys stroke it, men ram it.
In all seriousness, I want a diesel someday and get a banks 6 gun kit for it. Most diesel trucks are way detuned at the factory and its crazy the torque and power you can get out of them if set up right.

safarisamSame! Like I love my truck, but I wish it could haul more. I'm used to tossing generators and what not in my truck bed and not thinking twice. I so agree with liking not having to worry. My old truck ripped.
mystery3But they're such good trucks.
You can do some suspension work out back to get you increased payload. My '17 double cab off road was only rated to haul like 860lbs or something. It handled 1000-1200 as long as it was in front of the rear axle.
CaseyYeah I shouldn’t lead with my complaints because it has been a dream to own otherwise. I have the TRD sport so it has the stiffer bilsteins already and the last owner did an add-a-leaf kit in the back for the lift I just don’t like hauling with it most yards have a 1 yard min which for rock or sand is like 1.5 tons- pushing your luck a bit in a Tacoma IMO
But yeah conversely I am not trying to spend 75 grand on a powerstroke that’s 35 feet long doesn’t fit in any parking spots and constantly dealing with exhaust regen, no thank you
MichiganCatFartI think we all know that volkswagen made the best diesel truck.
Pictures stolen off of google
CaseyWhen someone says “I’m used to tossing generators in the back.” I don’t think they usually mean, “with a crane” I had to laugh at that my generator weighs 20 lbs lol

Twinjibber77I was so in for the diesel colorado and then a diesel tech I work with talked me out of it (2-ish years ago, I think). I finally saw one in real life the other day and I can't say I'm bummed I didn't get it. I'll never forget him saying "You think you're getting an American Hilux, but you're just getting a small Chevy truck with an engine that you're testing for them and for way more than you should pay".
I was between the Colorado/Tacoma/Ranger. What are your thoughts on the interior size/storage/usability of the Colorado? For a few days I was really into the Ranger, but when I saw how the backseat worked IRL, I was convinced it was the dumbest midsize on the market at the time.
