Vision 108 VS Tracer 108

The two skis I use the most:
vision 108 in a 183 with shifts and touring boot
k2 mindbender 108ti in a 186 with pivots and an alpine boot.

im 5’10 150 pounds soaking wet and ski generally pretty aggressively.

mindbenders are smooth, can carve a variety of turn shapes, easy pivot, forgiving, and fun at both slow and high speeds. You can get the shovel to chatter if you really push it. The biggest downside is they really are not ideal in the air. I normally stick to directional drops where I’m not really tryna pop but rather ski a fluid directional line with some drops. Great on landings. Cumbersome to swing around off the ground

vision 108 is insanely light and I think just a blast to ski on. To me, it maximizes fun for the easier going type of skiing I do in the backcountry. I suspect it actually can be pushed pretty hard - just havnt done it. It’s also fun in the resort on forgiving days, clean groomers, etc. just can’t bash it around through stepper bumps and stuff like the mindbenders. Oh and it’s ridiculously fun in the air.

never skiied the tracer.

my biggest caveat is I’m in CO which had pretty different snow conditions (lighter and shallower)

If you want a playful ski grab the visions if you want something a litter stiffer go for tracers. Visions mounted closer to center are ridiculously fun to ski on. Tracers are more dad ski and a little to stiff for my liking. Both skis are very light and ideal for touring.

I agree. The tracers are pretty much all garbage in my opinion, they’re super boring and one dimensional in their turn shape and flex. The vision is a stupid fun ski that punches well above its weight in terms of stability. I’d go Vision, it’s more versatile. Tracer will be better on groomers but why would you buy a touring ski for its groomer performance?

I've also never been a huge fan of the tracer series, the 108 is alright but in general they're all pretty uninspiring skis, and not just because they're a damper/stiffer option as a touring ski.

I ski the vision 108 w/Tecton 12's as my touring ski and friggin love that thing. For how light and soft it is, it skis fast incredibly well. Sometimes almost too well to the point that it's scary like you might just take flight haha
