Squad is budget and cyndrical. Flight deck is spherical. An I/O is a better comparison to flight deck and Line Miner is better comparison to Squad. I’m sure you know that, just wanted to point it out to OP.
Biffbarfreally like my oakley flightdecks with the purple/green lens. Vents amazing and the lens is badass for any conditions and works damn well even in shit light. Went from to that from a smith squad xl and the quality difference is noticeable.
Like others have said, OP, Smith and Oakley are really good options. I have actually put my I/OXs through the wringer in the past 5 years and they’re still kicking.
Giro is good too but the lenses are more prone to scratching. They use Zeiss, as do: Anon, Von Zipper, Spektrum, etc.
My experience is that Zeiss lenses tends to scratch a bit easier and flake.
Don’t have any experience with Dragon or Spy but they look sick.
One thing I will say is to get high contrast lens. They’re pretty common now for most brands. They go by the names of: Prizm, Chromapop, Vivid, Luma Lens, Happy Lens, Sonar, etc.
I think my next buy will be Oakley Fall Line XM or Spektrum Templet.
