That was the last time i could go ski due to covid the dome is closed since then sadly...
Hoping when the dome opens again to quickly regain my tricks and start trying backslides on long rails again and the never ending battle for the 2 pretz 2!
Said it last year. Going to say it again this year. Its my last year in high school, I just need to commit to a cork 3. I think it is one of the coolest tricks someone can do. Fuck its scary though.
I’ve tried flat spins multiple times. I can’t get to tucking or getting the spin around. I can do it on tramp and I can do it on a diving board. I’ve came to the conclusion that I don’t have enough air or speed and hard enough set
finally upped my jump this year and got flat 3's and 5's on lock and finally landed cork 7 a couple weeks ago. really wanna get cork 5 and 9 and get some grabs goin
Been hyping myself to try a cork 7 all season, sadly I dont have a good jump to try it off and the ski patroller here in southern utah will clip your pass for going inverted... so maybe a miracle
anyone have advice on true tail blunts or stales or any tail grab whatsoever? I want to grab my tails so fucking bad but I have some mental block. All I want to do is a 540 blunt...
CrunnchyVanManBeen working on grabs and shifties in my spins off of jumps, my fave that ive been doing is a slow spinning stalefish 180
shifty 1s are my favorite trick to do on a big jump. Trying to stay straight for as long as possible and then whipping around as fast as you can, it's a crazy feeling to have in the air

It's all about snapping your ski into your hand rather than reaching for it. Practice straight airs and just focus on getting that tail in the right spot until you don't have to think about it any more. Looking back and trying to reach for it will throw off your balance.
I'm not perfect with blunts yet but thinking about it this way has made them much easier.
Ha ha! That's what a bunch told me the other day too. My 'Nerves of Steel' have turned to ice cream!
I just have to do it again. I'm only good for straight air, but miss the feeling.
I haven't been skiing much the past few seasons so I'm trying to get my park game back. I'm sliding rails better than ever and have my 3s and 1s back. I just need to work up the courage to hit the bigger jumps and start trying more stuff. My goal by the end of the season is to get 7s and all 8 on rails.
Coached some guy off a cliff from the lift today. Got the whole lift hollering for him. Felt real good. He sent it, and the lift went wild. But really completes the cycle. Fuck it. If you wanna send it do it. The people of NS are here to cheer ya on.
i like hitting that level of comfortability of skiing your home mtn for a while that you can now find all sorts of fun lines to ski that are just the right amount of scary and fun.
I landed a small backflip after not going upside down in years. Got 2p2 finally at the age of 28. Did some decent 540s on the “big” jump after a few years of not going over 360.
Finally got a flat spin after like 17 attempts. Almost got a frontflip but didn't ride out of it. Switch 540s are on lock, 7s are a little iffy still, but I'm getting a lot more comfortable with them. Learned how to grab on backflips, and finally landed on off a park jump and off a small cliff.
I’ve got my back and front flips off cliffs on lock and getting 3s bigger but I feel like I need to learn a cork 7 and a double backy to keep progressing how I want to. Ive literally been dreaming about those flips every other night for the past month. I have lists of tricks I wanna learn that are a little more simple, but mainly bringing spins past 3 and doubles. Aaaghhh
DeebieSkeebiessounds like either Eagle Point or Brian Head, but doesn't come as much of a surprise haha. I think one of those two is under new management.
Yeah man it’s pretty whack down here at the moment, I tried a little misty 5 off the pow/wind lip and the patrollers got super anal about it (b-head)

Where in southern utah are you at me and my crew are gonna go hike a jump near brian head and cork 7 is the goal for everyone going
Been in a hurricane-shaped rut of snowskating balls to the wall. Just like downhill tech sliding the groomers and bull riding the diamonds.
Super fun, but my adrenaline levels are too elevated, and I can't really eat or sleep normally. It's got me in this anxious state of "If I stop moving, I'll die."
I'm getting past this longboardy/mountainboardy pigeon hole and working on some old school skatey-er type stuff.
Been trying a handful of old school pool coping tricks... but like on a snowskate... treating sidehits, terrain lumps, hips and berms like the pool walls - hunting down little ledges and seams that serve like coping.
It's really changing the way I read the terrain and even starting to translate into my skiing.
Was riding with some old punk rocker dudes at Abay today and nailed a pretty cool (but mellow) big ol slow overstyled frontside bean plant off a cat track side jib. Lol they were stoked.
But! My vision for developing that is while I'm slapping a ditch, riding up onto a high rock, doing a fucking hesh-ass backside bean plant off it, and hucking my meat back down in. Ugh, that'd be so rad.
Also, I'm taking a lot of falls off boxes this season trying to do a soap slide to fingerflip - Named after those wacky soap shoe things.
It's like, right as you ride onto the box, you pop your snowskate into your hands, slide the box sideways with just your shoes, and throw a fingerflip as you ride off.
It's pretty simple in theory, but damn I'm having trouble locking my sneakers in.
Pictures welcome?
Did a dorky little weird drop knee bean slide on a dance floor today:
Boardslide a rail today. I missed a lot of early season riding and haven't been in the park much. Also get in my head a bunch especially being older and more brittle. Anyway felt good to boardslide something. I need to start doing it more, was worried about my edges being new. Idk, I get in my head too much. Anyway felt good.
Also we had a sick pow week and one day I ate locked in, maybe because of the music, maybe the snow, maybe the mushrooms. but I was ripping the mountain pretty good, My friends had been talking about some cliffs, so I asked them. Within reasonable height I was down to send anything they wanted. Obviously straight airs unless small small. But nobody was into it that day. But got fresh lines and though nothing necessarily special about our riding, it felt good to charge properly. It's increasingly rare that I lock in and really rip.
Idk, just glad for another year still on the mountain. Not riding as much as before, shredding like 1/10th as hard but still getting out. And I really do appreciate the good days, the rippers, and the small victories of regaining a tricks, getting a trick, hitting a feature that scare me.
Idk, sometimes the little sends matter. If nothing more than for smiles.

Damn i was just thinking the other day how i want this to be the next thing i learn how to do. fat shifty to last second switch landing sounds so hard

I've never done em on skis but was one of my favorite tricks to float on the snowboard. I feel like its prolly harder on skis to make it look good. Just with your legs being centered
CeleryI've started banging the shit out of my switch landings and it feels so good.
I was getting a bunch of tricks back on our small medium features last year. After bangs the fuck put of 12' features like they were 30' feature. Felt good so whi care.
