RichKidI hope next year they have some of the guy in Zootspace like Paddy Flanagan, Forster Meeks, Andy Partridge, or Anders Fornelius
poofartpeeMango was over it after doing it for two years, says it wasnt worth it for the ammount of work.
But I agree they need more urban specialists in this comp and make it urban shots only again.
Christian_BaleI doubt that any of those guys would accept an invite. Not that I blame them of course. Especially since real ski is no longer street-only (or maybe its only for this year idk)
Christian_BaleI'd like to see some younger guys in it. Harald or Cal Carson for instance. And this might be an unpopular opinion, but I was disappointed with Tanner Hall being included instead of someone like Cal. He looked much more uncomfortable on rails than the others and frankly his street clips were not on the same level. Tanner is a legend of course, and it's incredible that he's doing what he's doing at 37. But at this point I think someone like Harald has more to offer in regard to street skiing.
BradFiAusNzCoCaHonestly, I want to see Ez_panda in real street - what is that dudes name btw?? It’s not on his insta
Chrischi69Yeah its weird how there was some backcountry and park i thought the whole point was urban shots
SessionYou know.....COVID?
gravelformat change has nothing to do with covid
Upstate_WillisIt's hilarious how many people are commenting saying the format changed because of covid. No it changed so ESPN could share more content of more well known athletes to get higher ratings and open the door to comp athletes who have less time to do a street project. Aka fucking over the less followed core street skiers.

FruitBootProAm I the only one who really isn't that bothered by the backcountry parts?
VISHNUDylan Manley would make a crazy real street or literally die trying
gorbdawggybrentwould it be possible to do a newschoolers real ski that is actually core and swagger?
or is ns too small for the pros to want to win somthing like that
Upstate_WillisI think anything is possible but the amount of time and money that goes into a 90 second Realski is pretty absurd. The worst of that is that Xgames puts up enough for maybe 1/8 or 1/4 of it. If you don't have sponsors behind you the athlete is just paying out of pocket to make it happen to be apart of Xgames. So if another entity did it, it would have to be super proper. Think TGR Co-Lab. That was so legit, and really gave athletes a reason to put themselves in the position they do for Xgames. What I mean by that, is when the skiers get into the mindset for a Realski it's that they're really willing to put it all on the line, so if it's not for the Xgames medal that they've been dreaming about since they began their career, than it better be for something well worth it. In short, a NS Realski styled video contest could be real dope but they'd have to be a ton of funding and prize money behind it to make it worth IMO. I'm a filmer not a skier tho, so others may feel different.
ASAPCarterYeah hackel and ahall just said on their live that they get around 10k and the majority of that is used just to cover licensing for the songs.
gravelsong licensing is variable. you can pay much cheaper than 10k for licensing depending on the artists you work with. for example, music licenses for both of the realskis i have worked on have been less than 1k.
this year the budget from x games for the production of every part was 10k/team. last year i believe it was 7.5k/team. this year they reduced the prize money in order to give everyone larger budgets.

sunsetconoisseursomeone should organize a ns only urban comp where ppl can just go and stack some clips for a minute edit or whatever then submit it. don't have to be pro or anything. then other ns users vote on a winner
ASAPCarterI know Meeks was injured, but it’d be sick to see him, panda, krypto, kimbo, and Noah albaladejo get a shot next year
