Why does loon parks hate skiers?

Why does loon parks hate skiers? I was at loon yesterday lappin with homie and he made me realize that they don’t seem to be fans of us 2 plankers in the park. What really makes this clear is the Instagram, they’ve only posted 2 ski edits ever. Does anyone know or is it just the dude behind the Instagram account?

I think lately it’s just been one of those parks a lot of snowboarders ride. Idk there’s always spots that seem to be board dominated or ski dominated and it cycles

Tru just been seeing a lot of skiers killing it there recently and if they posted some ski content for sure way more park skiers would come. I just don’t understand how the snowboard ski rivalry still lives on today at some mountains.

I don't think they hate park skiers. They just have a park staff that has only ever had snowboarders except for like 1 or 2 seasons I can remember. They also get/use to get a lot of snowboard money through partnerships/events etc...

They just haven't seen as much ski money in recent years so it makes sense why it's a snowboard dominated park. That being said, they still get plenty of skiers lapping LMP

Deff some skiers that rip there (I'd like to think I'm included in that) but Loon is also the home-mountain of like countless actual pro-snowboarders and I don't blame them for more heavily featuring the type of riding that helped create their reputation as a premier park resort.

Side note - the features in LMP were fucking huge this weekend and I shit myself more than a few times...

Some absolute booters dude I shit myself a handful of times too lol, I sent most of them to absolute flat a couple times and my body isn’t happy about it today lol

brighton is kinda the same way. seems like all the diggers there are boarders. snowboarders just seem to all congregate at the same mountains.

Mammoth is also a lowkey snowboard hub. I was there for 3 days and 90% of the people riding main park were snowboarders.

^ the reason why places like Btown are such boarder hubs is because that was like "the spot" to be at if you were a snowboarder when it was coming onto the scene. Some OGs used to call Brighton home and it was featured a lot in older snowboarder mags and shit like that

it def still kind of is too, I skied for a season there and was mostly ripping solo and one time I rode up with three boarder ladies and they were just casually chatting about dew tour

Yeah it's just one of those mountains where the park crew is mostly/all snowboarders and they have a snowboarder scene due to that and promotional arrangements etc. They have park events and photo shoots. Boreal and big bear are others that come to mind

LMP is almost always dope and has occasional super sick features. Def more boarder-oriented stuff than average tho, like pole jams and ollie stuff

And I don't love their jumps, the lips always seem short and lippy rather than a long smooth transition
