Real Ski Backcountry?

It would be dope to see that along side the regular street real ski. If im being honest I'm very partial to Hackel, Lupe's, and Taylor's edits because they were 100% street, granted I understand why ahall, Ferdi, and tanner filmed what they did since it's allowed. But to me it didn't feel right and threw off the vibe of the contest to me, that said everyone threw down.

Also, if it comes back, it has to slap. Otherwise it doesn't stay. Let's be real here, this years real-ski is a weaker than previous years (aside from A-hall and Hakemoto - they were proper), because they didn't bring the heaviest riders of last year along for the comp. You need to make it competitive entry or the comp is weaker than years past. Don't just hand out invites to people who you think deserve a lifetime achievement awards...

Your favourite up and comer slaps, sure. But they aren't world leading. You need to wheel out the big guns for the return of X-Games real ski. Sammy C deserves a spot, he gets the invite. P-white. Dunc. Karl. Kuch. Henrik (maybe it will finally get him to stop just slapping cheesewedges everywhere like he's having a tasting platter). Maybe chuck in a wildcard like Colby Stevenson.

To be fair to this years competitors, this isn't aimed at them - they all put in work and killed it, probably under more stressful circumstances than usual. Who wouldn't take the invite! It would be a life goal for many street riders I'm sure.

But the way X-Games selects people is weak. It's been weak in the past for slope and big-air too (probably still is but I don't have time to keep up with which park rats are on top). If you don't bring the heaviest people in the game, you don't get the heaviest comp.

I dunno, maybe this year covid might have played silly buggers with certain people, or invites, I dunno what went on behind the scenes. I'm sure a lot of the OGs who have done it a few times have bowed out due to not wanting to annihilate themselves for a 90sec clip. But if you want to keep people stoked on the comp, it needs to progress, and to do that, it needs the right people in it.

Yeah maybe bring in an old guy like pep or bentchetler also. Their pretty big names eventually throw in young guns like Cole Richardson and luke penton or Dylan siggers. I think it’d be sick. All the people you mention and all the ones I have mentioned lhave made banger edits and creative ones not just park jumps with pow landings. I think it’d be so sweet
