I was on this one site about to order a 6$ box to my house and the shipping charge was 110 $. No thank you. Im hoping i can just roll in to fedex and package them there. I have the label already. I just need packaging.

My local shipping stores usually don’t carry oddly-shaped boxes like that.
Ask a local golf shop if they have a spare box or two you can have. Clubs arrive in ski-shaped boxes. If the box is too short, stack two on top of each other and packaging tape em together. The shipping and receiving dept should have a shit ton of boxes that they just send to recycling. Bring beer or spend a few bucks in the store if they need convincing

buy new skis, get the box.
I always keep 2-3 boxes handy for shipping skis out.
Combing 2 boxes also works.

Also, don't ship flat skis in a ski box. Instead, take smaller boxes and fold them around the ski, and tape the crap out of them. It will save you a ton on shipping and means you can use any cardboard you have around the house.
Skis are usually like $30 to ship in the US with the flat cardboard method.

what cyd said above... but i just did it with skis with bindings on them and it worked great.
use cardboard that will wrap completely around the skis, roll it up so it crinkles along its natural weak spots before you wrap around skis, it makes it so it’s more flimsy and fits more snugly around the skis. toss an extra layer around the bindings for protection. better to use big pieces just cuz it’s less taping and less worry for something to come apart, but i just shipped some 188s with bindings on them and i think i used about 5 medium sized cardboard boxes. get some bubble wrap for the tips, tails, and binding areas.
make sure to use as much tape as possible to secure the connection areas of the cardboard pieces, don’t skimp out on packing tape, make the connections secure.
the lady at fedex looked at me like i was a crackhead bringing in a box that looked the way it did... but who cares she took the box and chuckled.

If the skis are mounted get a golf bag box. Works perfect. Bubble wrap and tape the skis and you’ll be golden.
