Any tips on how to go from lazy boy hand drag cork 3s to regular cork 3s?

This is what I'm working with right now and I wanna work up to normal take off cork 3s. I tried to do this rotation off a straight take off and it didn't go too well so I'm looking for tips on what I should do next time I go for it. I slowed the video down since the lighting makes it pretty difficult to see what's going on in real speed. Appreciate any input!

Don't drag the hand, go much harder on a bigger jump and pop a frickin' cork!

Well I'll be at a bigger park on Friday so I'll try and send one there on a good jump. Does the axis look good or should I try and invert it more?

Good luck to you. You need to cork it. It's like a spin laying down with the feet first.

Carve, set with your core and hips and then drop the head. The hand drag looks good man more speed or a grab would be sick. Also it’s good for getting used to being off axis

stand up slowly out of lazy boy position. keep dragging hand.

u will eventually be able to take out the hand drag just keep standing up more

Do you mean like the next hit, be a couple inches taller, rinse and repeat? Or like at once, as you approach the jump you slowly stand up?

nah like work ur way up with developing the set for it.

like day 1 - full lazyboy drag
day 2 - keep ur back an inch off ur tails
day 12 - crouch and hand drag


until u r eventually in just a hunched over position and its awk to put ur hand down, then just pretend ur gonna hand drag and set cork

Sweet thanks. I have been popping for bigger corks for years but cork 3s and bigger cork 5s are just impossible to get off axis for me. Hopefully this will help.

This is really helpful thanks. I figured I could prolly go from lazy boy to regular just by easing off of the drag, but wasn't sure if I should be setting differently for a cork 3. Good to know I can take it little by little and get more upright on the takeoff

Idk if this helps but when i first got cork 3’s i was actually trying to go for cork 5. I found what helped me finally get the 3’s to feet and not one foot landings is try and go bigger on the jump. With cork 3’s it’s a hell of a lot easier to make them clean if you lean a little bit back off the takeoff and grab safety. I was having a really hard time getting them clean and grabbing safety helps you stay together and get a better rotation around. Good luck and here is a video if when i got them clean.

And i forgot to add, wait for the landing to come to you and don’t try and prepare for it. This sounds really dumb but this helped me stay tucked and get the rotation back to a straight landing. When i say straight i mean i was getting the full 3 around but was still off axis which caused to land on one foot. So grab safety and wait for the landing to come to you. Also go huge
