the bindings look like they are worth about 5$ and these skis in used condition are probably worth about 80$. How the fuck is this asshole expecting to sell his garbage to some rabbit for 850$?
I mean that makes sense to me, but across many posts that means I either need to know retail prices offhand or be looking em up for every listing. Becomes very time consuming
Honestly, and this may sound a little crazy, but my suggestion is just go off feeling. I imagine, like a lot of skiers, you’ve got a feel for what a homie hookup is or not. We shouldn’t let them abuse your generosity. You can even make a post and blame us on NSers. Even blame me if you need to. Say something about “after much discussion and some feedback from the guys on NS” or something.

You “price policing” originally made it the awesome exchange it is. From a buyers standpoint, it’s awesome knowing there won’t be anything posted above the homie hook up iirc. I guess a seller could be pissed that you don’t want to inflate prices but at that point they can go elsewhere with their listing...

Interestingly, I wrote a dude about a longboard on FB. He realized I was a skier and offered his used once Jeffrey 108s with attack 13s for $950 AUD (it was like $650 USD at the time). He had just broke himself off right before the season. I didn’t have the cash at the time but wow it was random

I did some scummy shit, and tried to resell a pair of On3p Jeffrey 116's that had been used less than 10 days in japan. With attack 13's for $500 Aud.
I'm a dick, but man I should have just bought them and held onto em, but I already have pow skis soooo
I've tried to buy those skis used several times and never found them at a price I could afford. If I was loaded and had a grand burning a hole in my pocket I'd buy them to be mounted and skied the way they were meant to.
If anyone has 2011-2013 Punx with no missing edge or major structural damage, shoot me a pm. Preferably one of the larger sizes.
Damn that’s pretty cheap. There are some sleeper deals in Aus for sure. I put my buddy on the trail of some 190 Moment Wildcat 18/19s for $350 aud with marker griffons on FB. The skis were in immaculate condition. I couldn’t believe they were so cheap. I only think they were so cheap because Aussies didn’t know about Moment skis

in like 2014 they switched the punx from a medium-flexy park ski to a 2x4. Only briefly got a chance to ride my friends but I really liked them. Also nostalgia.

Most good/homie deals are gone in under an hour, so less chance someone would see them, bcuz math.

I've bought quite a few griffons over the years, never paid retail, I put them on skis Im not so sure Il will keep and probabbly flip, because most used buyers got no idea what a jester or griffon or pivot is :p
I buy mostly used skis and definitely know the difference between those bindings lol

haha depends on the skis man, but on a lot of them you just dont get $100 more for selling it with a jester, the person buying sees a binding, if they are educated they might ask if it fits their BSL. I will quote often list that they can choose to opt for a jester.
On more chargy skis, always a jester, or a pivot, but on something mellow, that wont see rails or big jumps/cliffs? griffon.
That beeing said I buy about 75% jesters vs 25% griffons. I also buy bindings in summer usually in bulk on sale.
Ffs someone is trying to sell a pair of hell bents “BRAND SPANKING NEW” but rode on for four days. Like, that’s between 28-32 hours of riding. You know how much shit can happen to a ski in that amount of time?

This thread is really funny but also has been really great for me since I’m newer to the secondary market. Appreciate the perspective on whats ripoff and whats normal prices cause I never knew that pivots weren’t actually that expensive used.
