Are swix and toko and other wax producers still going to make low fluoro waxes or are they done for?

It would be a shame if all wax manufacturers stopped making all fluorine containing waxes. I dont think low fluoro waxes are much of a health/environment issue, and according to most peoples online comments fluorine waxes DO make a significant difference in added speed.

if the manufacturers are completely done with fluorine waxes then i wonder if buying up a bunch of the last fluoro wax products online and sitting on them for 5 yrs would be a lucrative endeavor.

i mean some stores are already charging 1000% price hikes on certain high demand products.

It's a huge problem, and not good for anyone working with them. + it also hurts enviroment.

Yes they are better, but with bans in palce we should see better and better non fluoro products.

There was a super in depth Blister Podcast on waxes a few years ago featuring the guy from Swix (I think) and he was saying some of their new non-fluoro products they're working on actually outperform their fluoro waxes, that said I've nto seen any of those products on the shelves yet, so who knows...

I think they might keep low fluors around tho. A little fluoro helps alot. The major fluoro products with tons of perfluoro shit are for sure not going to be around. But it would suck if they banned everything fluoro.

i seriously doubt theres gonna be an even better non fluoro product. If they try to say its better without a true test of it im gonna buy up a bunch of fluoros and do a contact angle test against the new nonfluoro garbage

I just bough 4 pounds of toko backshop universal low fluoro yesterday for 100$. I figure that will be enough fluoro for the rest of my life if the big companies completely stop selling it.



Also the wax u mention isnt a good deal unless its fluorinated.

i wonder if you willl still be able to cop fluoros on silk road after the dust settles. That would be crazy.

I've not listened to it in a long while but I remember something like FIS banning fluoro from racing being mentioned, but I could be misremembering.

The fluoro discussion is around 41 minutes in

I'm not fussed on waxes needing fluoro in them, can go plenty fast enough on the wax I use without it and it's less awful for the environment

Racers sneaking fluoro waxes onto their skis is going to be the FIS version of blood doping.

The non fluoro alternatives are slow as shit. Buy all the LF and HF you can and save your scrapings.
