Is it hard to throw tricks with a non true freestyle ski?

I have a pair of black crow atris that are pretty fun, but are mounted a bit back from center, I think -7.5.

I want to get into more freestyle but don’t have the money for a new ski atm, will I still be able to do spins even with the off center spin weight? And maybe rails I don’t know if I’m gonna try those yet.

You’ll be fine. I have sick days at the factory mount which is far back from center and haven’t found a problem and even my buddies who are better than me have skis mounted far back from center.

I skied a pair of all mountain skis -5 last year and did about 25% park. I did not feel too much of a difference from my true park ski this year. As long as it has a little freestyle blood and you’re not wishing you had different skis the entire time you’ll have a great time.

I ski skis that are 106 underfoot and mounted 1 1/2 back and have no issue in the park

All of the old people on here were learning tricks on carving skis and straight skis with like 30 cm of tail. yeah its a little easier with a more centerd mount, but you will be more then ok as is.

That’s a good idea. Get started learning on the skis you have now and when you get new ones everything will feel so much easier and fun.

You can absolutely learn park without twin tips but you should consider dulling your edges if you’re going to hit rails.

Your still a pussy for skiing something under 100 and I am actually frontswapsdad so suck it. You’d be surprised at how many daddys money slope kids can’t believe I ski fat long skis in park with thier Andri spaghetti sized skis

K2 marksman they have some freestyle aspects to them but I’d say most people consider them soft snow skis

I don't recommend it if you are a noob to go huck crazy tricks in the park/side hits on non center mounted skis. It can put your knees at risk if you land heavy back seat.

Don't hit rails on skis with a tuned edge. Just don't.

The marksman is an all mountain freestyle ski. The rocker is almost symmetrical

I’m able to hit 180s and 3s no problem on side hits around the mountain. I’m still getting used to park jumps. And for detuning do you just dull the underfoot? Does that effect groomer performance

Underfoot for rails, tips and tails to be less catchy on spins and butters if you wanna. Both will affect groomer performance but I can still rip hard east coast groomers on my chronics and they only have edge from in front of binding to the rocker, same for tail
I also spin and butter all my skis, mounts range from -2 to -13, but I like -3 to -8 for park, you may wanna consider a pure park skis and save your atris if it’s in the budget, lotta sales rn especially last years models
