Quick Shifty Rail Skis

Sup y’all. I know this has been discussed before but I am new to the community so just wanted to get involved a bit here with my first post.


I’m an East Coast (PA) intermediate skier who doesn’t really push the limits anymore. I used to 6, 7, 8 years ago. But I like to keep
it casual and fun now so I don’t knock myself out of work now a days. Anyway,
I’ve ridden smaller park skis (example one of my sets up for a while were 2013 Armada THalls) for the better part of the last 10 years. And recently grabbed the new Dollos. I love them and it’s fun to have such a bigger (to me) and more playful ski. But I am looking to throw a second cheaper set up into my rotation this off-season and was looking for a very short turn radius type ski I can whip around easily and throw around, mainly on rails here, without much effort in.


So, what are your favorite more agile type rail oriented skis?

Lol anything under 100 is dumb 🙄
I the k2 sights pretty skinny, volkl makes some twigs also they both kinda sound like they feel like 2x4s cause there so stiff

Gottcha. Thanks for the reply man! Maybe I need to just get used to the wider underfoot lifestyle. It is different, I need to more so pick my lines now and let the ski ride a little more instead of just throwing my twigs around all I want. Almost like surfing a longboard vs a comp board. Thanks dude I’ll check Volkls out too

sights are great skis but have awful top sheet quality if you actually care about it

Jemssights are great skis but have awful top sheet quality if you actually care about it


Not that big of a deal to me. I’ll throw those into the ring

Totally. Considered Wets but not in stock I DMed them they said restocking during spring sale. Honeybadgers vs Wets anyone have any input here? Im hesitant to get another pair of Lines. Anyone ever ridden the new Blends?

i’m thinking about getting some blends as well, i ride honey badgers as my park ski rn. the bdog sounds like it might check a lot of your boxes but at $550 it’s not really cheap i wouldn’t say

Yeah dude I was thinking the same. Right now I’m down to the Wets, Honeybadgers, Blends, TWalshs, BDogs. I actually even like those Head Frame Walls that Jesper rides. Making me consider throwing the Head Caddy’s into the consideration as well.

I’ve heard honey Badger durability is to be desired. What’s your price range and are you looking for softer or stiffer? The frame walls are apparently stiff and I’ve heard durability isn’t the best.
Why not something like ARV86 or Bash 86?

Man would love to keep it at $400 and under but might be tough. Those new Blends are $600. As for flex doesn’t matter. I suppose softer since I mostly ski rails and east coast mountains with very small kickers so it’d be worth it to have some fun skis

Well the ARV86 and bash 86 are both going to be better quality than honey Badger, and both are right at $399.99 msrp. Both incorporate cap tips and tails with sandwich underfoot so swingweight will be low. Both will be fairly traditional park skis with some play.

I’ve got some revolt 95s myself right now. I bought them for the reasons you’re pretty much stating. I needed a pair for the season, I wanted cheap but good performance, and I didn’t want to worry about banging them up on rails. They’re also at the $399.99 msrp. They’re softer behind the heel (butter zone) but still a pretty nice middle of the road flex. Nothing too aggressive and swing weight doesn’t feel bad. Full sidewall. Just wanted to add my 2 cents

I was actually going to ask you if you have any Volkl recs but you’re riding 95s answers that appreciate it. I feel like everyone at xgames this year was riding Volkls too had me curious

He’s on an older ski, the Völkl Step. It’s discontinued, but the closet ski to it would be the Bash 86. The bash 86 isn’t going to be full sidewall (only underfoot - less weight) or fully symmetrical but these are things most people won’t notice
