TheWeazfrom what I’ve been told the gara is a lower volume liner meant for boots that are already pretty tight. The freeride is a little higher volume so if you have more room in your shell already they might be a good idea.
they also make multiple liner models that aren’t on the website but are available at store that stock zipfits, so you may go to the boot fitter and they present you with models you’ve never heard of.
driftsThe boots felt so tight and locked down at first like just on the verge of being uncomfortable for the first couple runs then they’d be great all day and the buckles could be pretty loose and I still felt locked in, now they feel a looser, just trying to get back to that early feel. I almost feel like I need to go down another shell size from what the boot fitter put me in sometimes
TheWeazI also have a pair if garas on the way, but don’t have them in hand yet.
it sounds to me like you liner is just starting to pack out. It also sounds like you are planning on going to a zipfit dealer, I would just ask them which model would work best with your foot and boot combo, it is pretty hard to give any kind of meaningful advice without seeing both in person.
BigPurpleSkiSuitI just pulled the trigger on some Garas for my Salomon SMax 130. I have yet to ski them but will report back after this weekend. I'm hoping they will help a little with the shin bang.
aguo5520Did they end up helping with your shin bang? How do you like the garas in general? I'm kinda in the same boat as you.

BigPurpleSkiSuitAlso, it felt like the liner was moving around inside my shell which I did not appreciate very much at all.

aguo5520Damn, did a boot fitter do them for you, or did you try fitting them yourself?
DensecloudsWaiting to hear back from @BigPurpleSkiSuit

BigPurpleSkiSuitOh damn, yeah so here's what happened. Liner feels great, tight to my foot, but there were 2 issues I had. My 28.5 liner was sliding around inside of my actual plastic shell which is a 28.5 as well. On top of that, the heel pocket was making my heel spur hurt so I switched back to the stock liners and put more foam cushioning up front on those to counter shin bang. The liners felt great but in the boot were actually sliding around a bit which was a salmon s max 130
DensecloudsDamn so you're not even able to use them? I'm looking to get some Gara's myself. What last are your Smax 130's? Did you do the LV or HV Zipfit, and do you plan to do any more adjustments to get them to work in your current boots?
