I don't hit my head a lot but the last concussion I got was from my jaw clacking when I didn't even crash. Drop a recommendation if you have one. Should I get a boxing mouth guard in case things get rowdy on the hill?
I have a “game on” mouth guard that I never crash when wearing and always crash when I’m not wearing it. Somehow. Also have concussed myself this way. I have nothing to compare it to so no idea if it’s good but it annoys me enough to only sometimes use where as I always wear my back protector / helmet.
I wear something similar to this. It's dope cause you can speak almost normal and it doesnt get in the way of breathing. I forget about it until I get to the lift line

I fell on my mountain bike on some jumps when I was a kid and landed on my head. Even with a helmet, my teeth came together so hard on the impact it shattered the front top teeth and took the tops off the bottom front teeth. It literally looked like someone took a shotgun and blasted my teeth out with it. They had to file them down to cones and cap them all which was rough. So yeah, mouthguards are always a good idea because you never know...

I use the same one. Way nicer than the old style super thick ones
I tried to eat the tip of my ski while crashing two years ago and it didnt go very well
Also got a concussion from slamming my knee into my chin after a drop later that season. I have a shock doctor mouthguard now but it makes me want to gag if I keep in in too long so I dont wear it as often as I should. Still I highly recommend everyone gets one, its a long expensive process to get new teeth.
Back when I used to race at the ripe age of 11 I fractured my maxilla in a gnarly accident and knocked some teeth out in the process. When I got back into racing I got a custom mouth guard from the dentist and it was definitely worth the investment. Didn’t have to worry about my teeth at all and it helped channel my stress into slamming gates instead of keeping my jaw clenched and worry about damaging more teeth when I crashed. Never thought about using the mouth guard outside of racing but I could see it being useful later on down the road.

Smashed teeth and concussions are hella stupid. This is the same logic as "I don't wear a helmet because I'm self conscious and afraid the older kids will make fun of me"

You can still wear one, I won’t stop you but just know you’ll be lookin like a beaver out there
