How do I get better at skiing?

Ski an ass ton of steep moguls. Like all day every time you ski.

Ski as much as possible.
Ski with people who are better than you and follow what they do without hesitation. Hesitation causes devastation.

Honestly, work on the basics. When I got an uncertified instructor job at a Vail Resort, they gave us 2 weekends of on-snow training. It was pretty much free ski lessons. I really focused on the things they taught us. Really helped me work on my form and basics. Looking back, I was a pretty shit skier before that. Once you have the basics, the rest will come.

I'm pretty sure @little1337 said this somewhere else, but why don't you just start skiing at a very young age? That worked for me

As mentioned above, ski with people/friends that are better that will help push your abilities. Strength train, cardio, the stronger you are the better off you will be. Trampoline helps a ton just to familiarize your body being in the air plus jumping is a good workout too. Good luck and stick with it!

If you are looking to get better at getting air and hitting drops I think it is really important to improve gradually. Every time I go skiing my goal is to do something I have never done before. Whether that is something small trying to hit a new side hit, or hitting something with more speed, tweaking that grab, or something bigger like trying a new trick or finding a new cliff. As someone who can get a lot of anxiety about performance this approach allowed me to enjoy the sport, feel a sense of accomplishment every time I went out, and progress safely. You will surprise yourself with how much more comfortable in the air you get as you chip away at it.

That being said, there are definitely moments when you are ready for something but are just super scared. For that, I would just find something that works for you. When I am spooked before dropping in I will think about skiers I am inspired by, focus on my breathing, count down from 10 etc. Play around with what hypes you and you will find that courage with a little practice.

Ski faster!

The fear is real hard to get over. The trick is to work with it not against it. Use fear to keep your senses sharp and your reaction time fast. Make an assessment of your skills. Be honest. Are you good at landing everything? Bad at air awareness? Vice versa? How can you improve? Trampolines? Seat time on big mountain terrain? If you build up your skills and strength to the point where you know *logically* that you can do it, sometimes then it is best to make a plan, think it through, visualize, then shut the mind off and just send it. If you commit 100% and visualize yourself doing the trick or feature, you'll have decent odds. If you don't commit, you have guaranteed failure
