I walk by this rail almost everyday and it’s naaaasty. Would I hit it? Yes? Would I successful slide through the whole rail? Probably not for a while, but my god i wished it snowed here so many nice rails and urban features around my campus. Fucking shame it’s in the south :/

Hard to tell from the pic but it looks like it might be aluminum, in which case your ski's edges will bite on the softer metal a lot. So if it is aluminum and you wanna hit it, ideally you have some skis with edges ripped out underfoot

I've thought of so many ways to conjure up some sort of kicker onto it. Best option though, is when it snows 2 inches up in the mountains (more like hills) about 20 minutes away, take my buddies truck up there and fill her up with as much snow as possibly.

After thinking about it more, definitely going to try and make it happen next time we get a tiny bit of snow up in the hills

If you got an ice rink within reasonable driving distance that can work. Or you can always buy ice/ rob an ice machine in a hotel or at work and crush it in a trash can. A pain in the ass but itll get your in run skiable. Best paired with a portable kicker of sorts that has carpet or something on it. Not fun enough to want to crush up enough ice to build take off unless worst case ontario.

Getting the ice should be easy and that process sounds shitty, but honestly it's probably my best option I got if I want to set it up soon. Expected to have 2 warm weeks where I am at and snow is not gonna be in sight.

I'll go see tomorrow, always walked passed but never really looked at and asked myself is this aluminum? Big bummer if it is though, plenty of others near by just as good or better.

I broke an aluminum rail I was hitting but the part I slid was multiple pieces welded together. Might be stronger if the sliding surface was a single bar but no way in hell I'd hit an aluminum rail with edges underfoot. idk give one of the lower bars a good wack to see if it dents easily.

At first glance it looks aluminum, but I don't think it actually is. I think it's just painted silver. The last nub hanging off the end on its own like that makes me think it's not aluminum as they don't normally structure an aluminum rail that way since it isn't as strong.

I wonder if you could lay a long rug down on the inrun and put a slip n slide over it, maybe some water and soap would be easier than crushing trash cans of ice?
