LemuelThinking about a touring setup, and I know for a fact I want a full rocker / flat underfoot. I skied the Hoji's a long time ago and fell in love, so those are definitely at the top of the list, same with the Raven which I would assume has a similar feel. Also looking at the Moment Deathwish Tour. I haven't skied the triple camber but it looks like it may react similar to no camber. I hate skis with copious amount of camber underfoot, especially for skiing the woods or off trail.
There was a Dynastar demo day yesterday at Sugarbush and I wanted to hop on the M Free 108. Didn't end up trying anything, but that looks like a good ski for a potential touring setup. Just weary of that pesky camber underfoot.
I'm curious to try the Deathwish Tour, too, but I'd probably only opt for it as part of a touring quiver rather than my sole touring setup.
I spent a couple of seasons touring in the last version of the Exit World, which were rocker-flat-rocker with triple camber zones in front of and behind the flat - basically the Deathwish Tour without any camber underfoot. I'm not a fan of lots of camber either, but the Exit Worlds were not the easiest to tour in. That profile was made pretty exclusively for soft snow, and consequently your skins had very little purchase in anything firm. It was not unusual for only about 60-70cm of a 186cm ski to actually be in contact with the snow on the way up due to the short flat/deep rocker lines.
The Deathwish Tour's small amount of camber underfoot might help, but knowing what I do about the Exit World's limitations I have a feeling the Deathwish Tour isn't the best choice if you're looking for one-ski touring quiver.
