Does anyone else feel like they don’t have time to ski?

Damn, 50-60 hours? That seems a bit high. I mean you probably spend, what 20 hours in class? Are you really doing 30+ hours outside the classroom?

Yeah fr engineering is a bitch. I did kinda f myself over by doing business my freshman year. I’m at about 18 credits and barely managing going up once every two weeks

Coleg55I’m in college rn and I just can never find time to go up. My schedule is a bitch, and I find myself spending at least 50-60 hours a week on school, and then another 20 a week for work cause I’m broke as shit.

And now my local mt is getting like 25 inch in the next 5 days and I just wish I could taste that fresh.

For me idk if its that i dont have time but i definitely feel you. I ski 3 hours away and a state over which means i pretty much lose the entire weekend with friends, although i do have friends at the mtn. I can cope with the school work but i find that like i miss out on the social stuff and life happening during the entire winter so it can get pretty tempting to stop. I love skiing more than pretty much anything i do tho so as soon as i get a taste of snow in november im addicted again.

I have a 4 yr old and an 18 month old. I will be lucky to ski twice this year. Its pretty rough and you can get serious FOMO during the winter when storms hit. It makes is super special when you finally get to head up though.

Hang in there. Engineering school is a bitch. Some semesters are better than others. It gets better after you graduate though. I work 40-50 hours a week depending on projects, and you'll start making decent money straight out of school. I never have to take work home with me, so once I'm off, the rest of the day or the weekend is all mine.

Some firms have cool schedules too. I've worked 4-10s before, which gave me a 3 day weekend every week. My current schedule is 4-9s and a half day Friday, so I usually go up to the mountain after work on Fridays. It sucks competing with everyone else for weekend turns, but that's to be expected with a traditional career.

Remember, you're in this field to build cool shit and get benefits and to afford all the cool skis and ski trips that you want

Make sure you’re always doing something, not just zoning out, watching youtube, scrolling Instagram on the toilet for 15 minutes etc... that time adds up. Recently I’ve made a point of constantly asking myself am I actually doing something right now. Deleted a bunch apps off my phone n shit. It’s more difficult than I expected because growing up with the internet fucked my attention span. but I get way more done and it’s getting easier. And I can actually do well in school and ski.

Yea i try to get a day in on Saturday's with the boys but i'm in the same boat as you. 12 hour work days as an accountant. Don't ever become an accountant. It's a bitch.

I just graduated so I finally have time to ski again, but before my recent graduation I hardly ever had time to ski ever. I had class and my internship all week during the day, I would spend hours outside of class doing hw and studying, and then I would bartend / serve every weekend. God that was awful, I’m so glad I’m done with it xD. So happy I have time to ski again. I would ski multiple times a week during high school, but I hardly skied at all throughout all of college. Who knows how good at skiing I could have gotten; instead, I’m only slightly better than I was my senior year of high school lmao.

Well this gives me hope haha. I was worried that I would have even less after college. Engineering plus having to work for expensive rent just blows
