Wait so they've made the 2022 higher volume? I like them. I have low volume low instep and they are the tightest boot ive ever been in. Liner could be better but you can adjust that.

I think they're more helpful on 3-piece boots than overlaps, but I'm Booster all the way and have been for years. As a cheaper/lighter option on my 50/50 bc/resort setup I'm actually just rocking Voile XL straps as elastic power straps. They work just as good as Boosters imo.
Ya they make a hv now , only difference is instep height. Our shells are able to be heated and molded not just the liner, but it’s still tight even after a 3mm punch in the toe box, molding too but just crushes my instep and I have custom master fit beds and ground boot boards so the higher instep would be nice but I’m not buying another pair of boots yet.
inside of the liner has a hard spot right at the instep too, I’m thinking about getting a custom liner

Wait did they change the top cuff part on s maxes? I have older ones and I can't fit the stock power strap under the overlapping part without a hassle. Gonna have to try a booster on mine though? Is it easier to get that under the cuff overlap bit than the stock strap?
Both. These straps are amazing. I’ve been riding them for a few weeks now. Side note I did modify them to just use the inter-strap and use my Booster straps because I have tiny legs. Highly recommend these.
Guess I’ll give em a try next pair of boots, spent a few hours in the yard on, they feel great on the tongue

The top half of our Professional Dual Strap sits directly on your tongue, holding the tongue to your shin. The lower half sits directly on the cuff, holding the cuff to the liner. No need to choose if you want it on the liner or the cuff, you get both.
Our strap is also as elastic as you want or as firm as you want and anywhere in between. You can dial in the damping or responsiveness to your liking.

By the time you put a custom footbed and a booster strap on them a lot of new ski boots are going to cost you about 1k after tax unless you get them on prodeal or on sale in the off season

Rocking some k2 recon 130s, WC booster put UNDERNEATH the plastic and they rip. I’ve tried outside the tongues and they obviously don’t perform as well.
Over. The advantage for a booster on a 3-piece is that it adds more of a progressive feeling to the flex, so it needs to interact with the tongue (which more or less controls flex.)

Neither opinion is inherently right or wrong. Depends on the feeling you want out of the liner, tongue, boot, etc. You can certainly try out both first before anchoring the straps into the shell to see which you like best.
I always go out on my Lupos. I tried going in but I felt too much pressure right where the strap was. I think everyone should try it both ways to see what's best for them. Some of my friends described straps under the shell as life changing.
FWIW Booster themselves seem to recommend under but only show the straps being used with overlap boots where the power strap in normally under anyway because the top of an overlap boot shell is generally lower than the top of the liner tongue. The extra thickness of the Booster, if sandwiched between the tippity top of the shell and the liner tongue, won't have much effect on the way the overlapping shell pieces flex.
Contrast that with a 3-piece boot where the shell tongue is almost solely responsible for the boot's flex and generally comes up much higher, closer to the top of the liner tongue. Placing a booster between the two pushes the shell tongue farther from your leg, changing the leverage you have to flex it.
It all comes down to personal feel, though, so have at it and good luck.
Personal preference boot depending. A full 4 buckle shell like mine, outside. I know this is contrary to my previous but I’ve now been carving, jumps, spins, everyday and some moguls too since I got my boosters, I’ve tried both and outside is more supportive, still elastic and a definite improvement, inside barely disrupts the buckles but it does, doesn’t feel as supportive, tho still very supportive, I’ve now got them dialed to where I can flex more and leave the buckles looser, this has led to what I suspect is increased bloodflow, my feet have been warmer, more comfortable, less pain, I can flex the boots more, if your shells like mine it may be better outside, other styles of shells may benefit from under, I say try both, however know that when the strap is mounted, if it’s mounted for inside strapping it will be off center when you run it outside and idk how much if at all that affects things.

Honestly i’m pretty sure that it doesn’t really matter if it’s off center a bit because the 2021 TWall Pros (boot i have right now) come with the power strap pretty off center out of the box so i bet it doesn’t matter a whole lot just off that
My boosters were mounted to be centered with strap against tongue and I’ve got em against shell and it’s better for me, the elastic strap still covers more than shin area so I think it’s fine as well and really like how the boot skis now

Lol Craig over at Patriot Footbeds had the change the name of his dual straps now because yours are called the same thing. Was it just a precautionary move?

We have patented and trademarked the name "Dual Strap" since 2008/2009, it's hardly something new that we've done.
