Best base layer for a female?

My gf is in need of a quality base layer, she just uses old yoga pants which aren’t that warm.

Ive gotten her on some merino wool pants but they were “itchy” for her, so something synthetic. I use a pair of 32 cool from Costco but they changed up their material and doesn’t feel as warm

Check Oyuki.. I think they make female specific layers. I think I spent like 50 bucks on a set. Thin yet super warm, worth it.

shes gotta be allergic to wool or somthing, a decent merino baselayer shouldn't be itchy at all. REI's baselayers are pretty nice though

Yeah that’s what I think too. Is smart wool too. I love my pair it was the best purchase. I went with the oyuki brand for her looked pretty quality for synthetic

Skins or 2XU thermal compression tights worked really well for me out in Japan when it was super cold, might be worth a go for her.

I wouldn't say best but it works for me. Ive been wearing synthetic material workout pants under my ski pants and have been fine in the teens and single digit temps. I also wear this thin set from Polartec I have leftover from the Army days. We nicknamed it the ninja suit. I wear the tops every day all winter long at work because its cold in the warehouse and I'm a freeze baby.

Ah yeah silkies. Still wear mine. And the waffle bottoms are clutch as a mid layer. Glad I kept mine.

Yes the silkweight ones. I'm so glad I kept them. I have this other set that is geared more for hunting . I dont wear it unless its way below zero. It it so hot I would have a heat stroke if I wore it skiing. I didn't keep the white long john looking ones I had from being onthe airfield. I should have. Those were warm.

Yeah ^^ check out under Armour cold gear leggings. They're polyester so probably similar to yoga pants. They're warm and also double as yoga pants.

Silks. not cheap but everyone I know who has them swears by them. Wife LOVES hers
