Here’s why I don’t believe the xgames scoring process will ever me made public.
If they had to break it into categories and justify every individual score that was made on the fly it would create a lot of controversy and people would spend countless hours shitting on these scores that were given in less than a minute of deliberation. This also would probably be a bad look for xgames because people would constantly demand new judges lmao.
The only way I see scores getting released is with the introduction of a similar format as knuckle huck. Let them all go and sacrifice live scoreboard to grade and order at the end. They could either grade once out of 50 or 100 for overall impression or they could take a few minutes and make more thorough judgements on every trick on its own and go from there.
In conclusion, xgames scoring has always been imperfect, henrik deserved a 42-45 on his sw dub bio 18, andri deserved that win, Henrik’s knuckle huck was a peace offering and that was jesper’s round. You can always say more but I feel that those are the main takeaways from this weekend.
I leave this open to the ever-so-toxic newschoolers community, obviously this is a personal opinion but I’m curious on what people think!
Edit: After re-reading I feel that it needs to be said that scoring will always be opinionated and that’s something that the harlaut fans had to live with this year.
