Replying to Someone please explain to this idiot wtf Taper is
I’ve read at least 5 different online descriptions of taper and they all seem to come to the same conclusion: taper = tip width minus tail width. Skis with more taper are generally fatter and surfier with pinned out tails. However, when I look at the dimensions of some popular 115+ waist skis then why am I seeing less taper than narrower waisted skis? Take for example the Armada white walker with 3 mil of taper compared to the Chetler 100 that has around 10? This is prolly just me being stupid, but I’m still figuring this all out and if someone could explain this to me that would be awesome. Cheers!
