asparagusfriendOk but I'd rather he didn't win because he has no style and his tricks are basic af he just spins a lot. He also spends every waking hour training for comps making it insanely hard to beat him if you're devoting time to filming or other stuff.

eheathSo you're saying someone who works hard shouldn't win? Like you have to understand how unreasonable you sound.
icyburrHahaha. Holy shit. You have to be trolling. You're really saying that because a person works harder than everyone else he doesn't deserve to win?
Yea, let's just give the gold to some homie who just sits around smoking weed all the time and does a dope 180 safety because that's so dope.
eheathYou guys are insane if you think andri should have not won, you can debate 2nd and 3rd all you want but andri did 3 NBDs in a row, he won with his first two tricks he didnt even need the third. Y'alls judgement is clouded by your discontent, put some respect on the tricks he did.

Chubz. There should be a 181cm ski size limit to compete in the x games
ColoradoDogfartThat would mean ahall and dollo would be guaranteed a podium every time

RedrobinEdollos only go up to 180, so he'd be out of luck
ScaryDumpTruckIt's weird that henriks dub bio 18 was scored 38..
ASAPCarterMans buys his skis from the kids section

EvanMeyerThis is why I can’t respect the judging or caliber of his tricks. I guarantee half the field could spin 1980s if they were on kiddie sticks
asparagusfriendThis actually got me thinking... what are the gear restrictions for skiers? It’s ok to have skis above your head and below your chin but could someone use skis at chest height? Like imagine if Dollo or Colby pulled up to slopestyle practice with mounted snow blades, would anyone stop them? (Also a snow blade slopestyle would be sick just saying)

eheathTo be fair, that photo the skis are at an angle, andri is also like 6'1 and im pretty sure he skies the longest park ski volkl makes. That being said, tons of pros use skis people think are "short" because they're comfortable, its pretty weak to discredit someone because their skis are 5-10cm shorter than you think they should be...
EvanMeyerHis skis aren’t at THAT much of an angle that a 181 isnt coming up to his chest at 6’1 he’s riding 165s which is what I rode when I was 12

eheathI believe theyre like 175 or something, i dont think volkl makes longer ones.

eheathThat would defeat the purpose of "freeskiing" my dude, there are no rules about that shit, most people ski a pretty normal sized ski, ppl just like to tear down skiers they don't like for any reason possible.

EvanMeyer
baby skis no way around it, Ferdinand and nummedal both have skis that are atleast nose - head height

Brule. Those skis are the ideal height for him…if he was competing in a slalom race.
Those skis are definitely not longer than a 170.

DeadBAndri could throw a 2000 and I wouldn't raise an eyebrow because it looks like complete shit. I know xgames is mostly about technicality and degrees, they like to try to make style a factor and like to say its a factor but really it's not gunna beat a big spin.
X-games aside.
Andri's jacket, looks like shit.
His pants. Looks like shit.
His headgear, looks like shit.
His ski's look like shit.
His rotation looks like shit.
and his landing looks like shit.
This guy makes 4 pretz 4's look like shit.
Brule.Ik in racing each ski for each discipline has to be measured specifically in comparison to their height. It would be more fair if they implemented this in freeskiing and made it so your skis have to be as tall as you, not the Andri “skis on short skis” Raggetli bullshit.

EvanMeyerYup racing has always had regulations on ski lengths and although I’m not a fan of comps and corny regulations in general it’s kinda obvious him riding shorter skis gives him an advantage to huck bigger spins since there’s obviously less swing weight.
eheathI think its a bit of a stretch to call it an "advantage" you're just downplaying someone's talent because you don't like them. Could he ride 185s instead of 177s? sure, but it wouldn't make any difference, he's still be able to spin fast...
If henrik all of the sudden started riding 171 y'all wouldnt care, his skis are only longer than andris because they're rockered, his effective edge is smaller, with your logic you'd argue it'd be easier for him to spin off the lip faster because he has less edge to worry about..
Dont you see how stupid that sound? These guys at X are the top in the sport and you think < 1lb of difference and 5-10cm of ski length is going to change how much they can spin?
The only place a shorter ski has a very slight advantage is a small jump, but on a big jump like xgames there is essentially no difference. Nobody is gonna use a different ski to make a couple of ppl on the internet more happy, they're gonna ski whatever is more comfortable for them and in andris case hes just gonna keep winning.
EvanMeyerHahah you really think I care that much? Xgames is over I don’t give a shit who did what to be and I never downplayed the difficulty of his tricks. I said I don’t respect riding kids skis. Go skiing Eheath and give those tired sausage fingers a break from all that typing

eheathSo you completely ignored my reasonable argument, say you don't care, then you insult me? Alright dude
