You guys are insane if you think andri should have not won, you can debate 2nd and 3rd all you want but andri did 3 NBDs in a row, he won with his first two tricks he didnt even need the third. Y'alls judgement is clouded by your discontent, put some respect on the tricks he did.

Ok but I'd rather he didn't win because he has no style and his tricks are basic af he just spins a lot. He also spends every waking hour training for comps making it insanely hard to beat him if you're devoting time to filming or other stuff.

So you're saying someone who works hard shouldn't win? Like you have to understand how unreasonable you sound.

Hahaha. Holy shit. You have to be trolling. You're really saying that because a person works harder than everyone else he doesn't deserve to win?
Yea, let's just give the gold to some homie who just sits around smoking weed all the time and does a dope 180 safety because that's so dope.

So you're saying that you didn't want him to win, not because the tricks he did weren't podium-worthy, but just because you don't like the guy and he works hard. Nice.

Nah I get that he works insanely hard and deserves the win, I'm just saying that he's raising the bar so much that in order to keep up people won't have time to film and stuff. If that's the way the sport is headed, fine. But I would still like to see my favorite comp skier have time to film an urban or backcountry part and I'm glad that skiers like Henrik and Ahall can pull it off.

Im not a fan of Andris style at all but he definitely deserved the won. I think people have more of a problem of where big air is going. The more spins equal the better trick type deal. I just hope the judges reward people who do more unique and different tricks.
OMG MY FAVORITE PART IS WHEN THE STEEZY SKIER DID A DUB THAT WAS SICK AND THEN ANDRI DROPPED IN AND DID THE SAME TRICK BUT AS A TRIPLE! LOLOL HE SHUDN'T HAVE WON THO CAUSE HE'S SPAGHETTI.
Don’t get me wrong I don’t like Andri’s style either but the landing on the 19 was actually sick. Just because you don’t like his style doesn’t mean you have to hate on the guy for everything he does. Ngl imo I think theres tons of guys in skiing who have wack trick choice and forced style but that doesn’t mean im gonna hate on everything they do. Andri seems like a decent enough guy, ik his skis are short but its the fucking x games, they’ve never really been the go to for watching stylish creative skiers. I got downvoted in the knuck huck thread cuz I said its hard to judge style vs big tricks but its true. Why tf would someone like Quan win over Andri just because he has more style, when Andri did the more technical, huge trick. Its a big air comp, aka best jump tricks. Not most stylish.
Can’t believe EHeaths first comment got that many downvotes ive never seen so many on NS trippin that hard. Andri isnt style but neither is x games get over it. Go watch somethingg else if u want style

ScaryDumpTruckIt's weird that henriks dub bio 18 was scored 38..
Its because he grabbed safety. Henrik can't rely only on axis and number of rotations anymore. He'll probably come back next year grabbing blunt and win the whole deal.
ASAPCarterMans buys his skis from the kids section
This actually got me thinking... what are the gear restrictions for skiers? It’s ok to have skis above your head and below your chin but could someone use skis at chest height? Like imagine if Dollo or Colby pulled up to slopestyle practice with mounted snow blades, would anyone stop them? (Also a snow blade slopestyle would be sick just saying)
EvanMeyerThis is why I can’t respect the judging or caliber of his tricks. I guarantee half the field could spin 1980s if they were on kiddie sticks
To be fair, that photo the skis are at an angle, andri is also like 6'1 and im pretty sure he skies the longest park ski volkl makes. That being said, tons of pros use skis people think are "short" because they're comfortable, its pretty weak to discredit someone because their skis are 5-10cm shorter than you think they should be...

That would defeat the purpose of "freeskiing" my dude, there are no rules about that shit, most people ski a pretty normal sized ski, ppl just like to tear down skiers they don't like for any reason possible.
His skis aren’t at THAT much of an angle that a 181 isnt coming up to his chest at 6’1 he’s riding 165s which is what I rode when I was 12

Eh. IMO they should have some sort of ski length requirement for comps. like the skis have to meet the top of your head or something like that. These comps are how these boys make $$$ so standardizing ski size to level the playing field would be a fine move.
Kinda like how in mtb the UCI banned use of skinsuits in downhill racing bc they were dorky and provided a slightly unfair advantage. Short skis are dorky.

Ik in racing each ski for each discipline has to be measured specifically in comparison to their height. It would be more fair if they implemented this in freeskiing and made it so your skis have to be as tall as you, not the Andri “skis on short skis” Raggetli bullshit.
Yup racing has always had regulations on ski lengths and although I’m not a fan of comps and corny regulations in general it’s kinda obvious him riding shorter skis gives him an advantage to huck bigger spins since there’s obviously less swing weight.
Brule. Those skis are the ideal height for him…if he was competing in a slalom race.
asparagusfriendThe X Games big air trilogy continues...
2020: A New Hope (for style in comps)
2021: The Comp Jock Strikes Back
2022: Return of the Steeze???
henrik will return from the knee surgery grave to put the comp jocks in their places
i dont mind the whole aerial shit that went down in big air im just bummed that it was social media jesus andri ragettli that did them. wish the self-proclaimed seatbelt god, tallest guy in x-games ahall span with laundry spaghetti
Andri could throw a 2000 and I wouldn't raise an eyebrow because it looks like complete shit. I know xgames is mostly about technicality and degrees, they like to try to make style a factor and like to say its a factor but really it's not gunna beat a big spin.
X-games aside.
Andri's jacket, looks like shit.
His pants. Looks like shit.
His headgear, looks like shit.
His ski's look like shit.
His rotation looks like shit.
and his landing looks like shit.

Tbh I have to put some respect on his name for his fits (he's keeping it at least a lil baggy) but the most annoying thing about him is the fact that he's an influencer.
It seems like he wants to win comps just so he can post photos of him holding a medal with a cheesy grin on his face. And then his followers fuel this behaviour by dropping painfully generic comments and fire emojis on his insta because most of them know nothing about skiing.

In racing the ski length isnt based on height at all. Fis sets minimum or maximum specs for length width radius etc. Yall are really tripping though if you think the solution is to make freestyle skiing more like racing, the less rules the better. Also short skis are harder to land on, you have to land bolts so idk why everyone is so mad that he trades off stability for more maneuverability.
Lol at all you guys wanting restrictions and rules on ski size that’s some FIS bullshit that no one wants. I hate Andy Spaghettis whack ass style and short ass skis just as much as you guys but restrictions and regulations are not the way to go.

Guy this isnt a fashion contest. The graphics volkl puts on his skis shouldn't effect his score at xgames. His rails are ugly af but hes not that bad in the air and his landings arent that bad. Jossi wells looks sick and all but comps would be boring if everyone was all blacked out all the time and doing zeros off everything. Style matters when comparing similar tricks but quan doing a stylish dub 9 stallout isnt gonna beat a triple 12 stallout and shouldnt. I dont like andri and pay zero attention to him but he definitely laced up some crazy stuff in the big air and you sound like a bunch of whiny children complaining that he doesnt look cool enough to win.
EvanMeyerYup racing has always had regulations on ski lengths and although I’m not a fan of comps and corny regulations in general it’s kinda obvious him riding shorter skis gives him an advantage to huck bigger spins since there’s obviously less swing weight.
I think its a bit of a stretch to call it an "advantage" you're just downplaying someone's talent because you don't like them. Could he ride 185s instead of 177s? sure, but it wouldn't make any difference, he's still be able to spin fast...
If henrik all of the sudden started riding 171 y'all wouldnt care, his skis are only longer than andris because they're rockered, his effective edge is smaller, with your logic you'd argue it'd be easier for him to spin off the lip faster because he has less edge to worry about..
Dont you see how stupid that sound? These guys at X are the top in the sport and you think < 1lb of difference and 5-10cm of ski length is going to change how much they can spin?
The only place a shorter ski has a very slight advantage is a small jump, but on a big jump like xgames there is essentially no difference. Nobody is gonna use a different ski to make a couple of ppl on the internet more happy, they're gonna ski whatever is more comfortable for them and in andris case hes just gonna keep winning.
Hahah you really think I care that much? Xgames is over I don’t give a shit who did what to be and I never downplayed the difficulty of his tricks. I said I don’t respect riding kids skis. Go skiing Eheath and give those tired sausage fingers a break from all that typing

So you completely ignored my reasonable argument, say you don't care, then you insult me? Alright dude
"I want Xgames to be more core and stylish, so there should be more restrictions to ski length, kits, tricks, and people being allowed to post photos of themselves with their medals"
"I don't like Andri because he posted a photo smiling with a gold medal. So not core. Harlaut posing with his gold medal though? Super core."
"Usain Bolt won but totally didn't deserve it. I mean, all he does is work hard to win the races and doesn't spend his time doing other things. Total loser. He also wears nikes instead of adidas, and his running style is such garbage. Def didn't deserve to win even if he ran the fastest time, because I don't like how he was running. I especially didn't like how he was running faster than everyone else."-ns members, if they were consistent
Your argument for henriks case isn’t valid in my opinion. he’s 5’6 and rides 180s always has rode skis way bigger than him and just because they’re rockered with a shorter effective edge is a strawman comparison to someone 6’1 riding 169s. And insult? Damn you’ve gone soft on us eheath.
