I read in one of the interviews Pollard did that they won’t be changing the product every year in attempt to encourage sustainability. Shops feel a lot of pressure to liquidate last years product with a different graphic even if that’s the only difference between that cycle and the new product cycle. So I would expect Season to have different looking skis for the first few years.

There's been talk of brands going to a minimum of 2 years carry over on their products. it makes sense to me. It'll help shops, keep prices higher while building less product year over year adding to waste

Ha! working on a few more things + more sizes currently. It's interesting not being involved in the January "next year gear" hype train and OK with it, there's a lot of great looking products even in a crazy year.

I mean volkl didn’t change this years lineup whatsoever. Im not sure if this is because of covid but i do see reasons why they would have done this. They want to help shops out, maybe doing a 2 year product cycle?

all for 2 product cycles. what the guys at seasons are doing is the right direction for all sports. make gear that will last and make it so retailers can keep it longer than a year without losing investment value.

Or just maybe it's because some ski companies made waaayyy too many skis and couldn't sell them all. Rolling over skis that are the exact same just makes skis more expensive for the end consumer. Personally, I like being able to buy a set of skis that are one year old but brand new for half the price, but now I'm going to have to buy a set of skis that are one year older but new for twice the price. Sure, that might help the ski shop, but now I have to pay twice the price for the same set of skis.
