Thanks, I demoed the 177 but they definitely felt short. My shop doesn’t have 184s. How is the durability on them ?

Flipside, my 2014 Chronics are still going strong, actually all my Line skis have lasted super well, I still have some perfectly functional 2010 Anthems!

Much more solid ski than the ARV 96 and longer. I ride them all over the mountain, park, pow, and everything in between. Although I do ski them in the Alps. I've owned 96s and they were too light and short for me even at 184. Loving my 106.
6'0" at 182lbs.

Yeah maybe in the future, I’ve just got something too close in width to justify buying it. Want something that just rips all over the mountain and some park around 95-100

I have really enjoyed the Revolt 95s. They rail hard and, once I put a bevel on them, it gave them a much more surfy playful ride.

I’ve had some decent storm days (for Finland) on them and they were still fun as hell. The pivot fast, carve hard and they have decent float in soft snow. Also, I really enjoy them in the park. They’re seriously fun for the price.

However, the cons. The first I would say is the “butter zone”. Twig mentions this in his roofbox review, and I should have paid more attention. He is correct when he says the tail is stable until it isn’t. It can be seriously annoying to overpower your tails when they feel they are going to support you. Also, it messes with the ski a bit because the front is still relatively strong and torsionally solid. So you have a relatively strong ski (not stiff) and this stupid area behind the heel that is just overly soft. Then it’s back to the same strength in the tail. Were I the ski engineer, I would get rid of it. It’s not needed. The ski needs more heft behind the heel.

Second con is durability. While I love the grip that the no taper shape creates, the shape means that I am constantly chipping the ever living hell out of my top sheets. Like ripping off chunks from landing with skis close together, falling, etc. and fiberglass is frayed everywhere so you get fiberglass in your fingers when you grab the skis. I’ve never had a ski fray so much and chip so much in my life.

Given the price I paid (198 euros), I am very happy with the ski. However, were I to up my budget, I’d say Jeffrey or ARV96. Plus, I think you may be too big for the flex of the revolt 95 (notably the butter zone in the heel). That’s just my 2 cents.

New Jeffreys are 96 not 98 btw. Also, where do you ski? If it’s east coast I’d lean ARV since it’s camber over the Jeffrey which is rocker. Not sure about the Revolt I’ve never ridden it.

Oh shit yup. I’m in west coast but with all this shit snow I’m looking for something thinner. I have some pow skis but wanted something that would rip groomers but would feel nice off side hits and small drops too

almost all 90mm park skis are made for petite/kids.

on3p might be best bet.

I have the revolt 95, and ARV96 and Im 6'3, they feeeel shooort, even mounted -2 not true center. Id say ARV96s are most fun

also note that on3p 186 IS 186 + blunt tips, so it helps.

At that height and weight and west skiing if I were you I’d go Jeffrey 96 186cm. The extra length would be nice over the 184 ARV even tho it’s probably less ski on the ground since it’s a lot of rocker.

I like my Chronics a lot, though sometimes I wish i had something with some early rise/rocker. which is why I recently got some Edollos!

Nice I have been a fan of those. Would they be fun on easier hills going at low speeds? I’d be using it when going with my gf

Metal doesn't always equal stiffness. And as someone who is above 200 lbs. I find no issue whatsoever DD'ing a Jeffery.

True. Are you on the 98/96/102 or the 108? My 108s are perfect, but when I demoed the smaller width it didn't quite work. Fwiw I'm only ~150 but like a stiff ski. Seems like the on3ps get stiffer as the widths go up.

How about the reckoners 102? Ive only heard amazing things. Picking up a pair myself.

Just got the Reckoner 122, they were amazing. Getting the 19/20 Catamaran this week, and reckoner 102 next week.

Arv 96's are the move

I’m 6’5 200 and I’ve had a full season on arv 96s (a couple years ago), revolt 86s and Jeffery 96s. Revolts are the most fun in terms of carving but definitely the least stable for landing too far back (main reason I stopped skiing them was that they were too soft for landing big jumps switch). The arvs were the lightest and easiest to spin but they kinda sucked on groomers because they’d fold where the sidewall stops when I got forward (they now have longer sidewall so should be better). The Jefferys are the best in soft snow or charging hard but definitely don’t carve super nice with all the rocker.
