SofaKingSicki *believe* it's just for this year, and that the idea is that a skier for instance shows up with his gear and maybe a coach, while a sledneck has like a crew for equipment and all that shit.
that's a bit of conjecture but i'm basing it off this quote:
“With the difference in the event this year, the athletes will not be coming with the large groups that you might have seen in the past,” said Vanessa Anthes, ESPN’s associate director for X Games. “They are here to do a job, and they will be coming with a manager or a coach. … It will not be an athlete plus 10.”

iFlipI know virtually nothing about snowmobile freestyle or whatever the X Games format is. Have the tricks progressed at all over, say, the past five years?

eheathYeah this seems like another piece of the puzzle for them to keep the numbers down for covid reasons, snowmobiling is like one of the most popular events at xgames so I'm sure it'll be back next year.
zuesthis makes total sense when I travel in airplanes in between hundreds of strangers. Glad Xgames is doing their part to slow the spread.
TOAST.I will always have a hatred of snowmobiling events because they used to always cut away from ski pipe or slope to show them.
eheathYeah you're just a fucking idiot, we know.
zuesawww EHEATH hates logic!! we know!
