Yes I know. The great mount point thread. My problem is I’m coming off symmetrical twin tips that I have always rode center mounted. I ski switch consistently just carving around the mountain and I do a park run every 5 runs. Now moving to the nomad 105 and the rec mount point is 9 back from center which is just too far for me when I want to be able to ride switch and hit rails from time to time. Yea yea I could have bought a different ski but these are what I wanted. That being said. Anyone have good experience with a good mount point for these skis that isn’t 9 back? And if you could share some experience with your mount point that would be awesome. Much appreciated.

I rode a pair at -2cm from true, and I still thought they rode nicely there. Yes, you need to ski with a more centered stance rather than driving the tips hard, but it didn't feel bad at any point. If you're used to center, I'd just go there personally but you could go -3 / -4 if you're worried about pow performance. But I've seen people center mount them for park and like that too... it seems like a ski with a really big sweet spot. I'd be very surprised if, given you've been riding a center-mounted ski until now, you didn't like them just fine at -2.
I bet blisterreview wrote something about these and someone almost certainly tried them at -6 at the least. Honestly it’s kind of odd that ski is -9 based on the shape.

Thanks twig, good intel. I also should note that I’m on the east coast and seldom see pow days so I’m not worried about the tips getting buried. I was thinking around -3 so that should be good for me I think
I mounted mine back -2 from center and I was really happy there. To me because the ski is pretty symmetrical and I like to ski switch a lot. I have the 181s
I prefer a true, or almost true center mount, and have really enjoyed skiing the 105 as a park ski mounted -1.5cm from true center (CC mark on ski). I believe this is +7.5cm from recommended line (BC mark on ski). They are a super fun park/all mountain setup. As mentioned above: the recommended line seems quite far back for a ski that is almost fully symmetrical.

Another +1 chiming in that the Nomad is quite neutral in terms of mount point. It won't really ski "weird" at any mount point, from recommended all the way up to true centre. Personally, I'd go true centre on the 191 and probably -2cm on the 186 or 181. But it all depends on what you're looking for out of the ski!
I just mounted my second pair of nomad 105s at CC and still love it. Does everything I need it too for the east coast. Might feel a bit different at first but I promise you can still get them up on edge and ride soft snow and chop all day.
I decided to go with cc because I wanted to “grow out” of the park laps only while still doing dumb shit both in and out of the park.
go with your gut. But don’t listen to anyone that says the ski (or any ski) is ruined by center mounting it.

That’s interesting about the length. I wonder if the massive tip and tail rise would weigh into that.
For anyone who references this thread in the future, I mounted at -2cm back from center (+7 from rec) and I think it looks about perfect to me. I say looks because I have not ridden them yet. Will update again after this weekend at Stowe.
Icelantic effectively doesn’t give two fucks about whether the number stamped on the ski and the actual measurements match. It’s forgiven because damn do they make fun skis.
10/10 ski couldn’t be happier after first two days on them. -2 from true is no different from a true center it feels the same. You could go -4 back and still feel relatively centered if I had to guess. Ski is unreal fully recommend to anyone interested
Still kicking around the 125s underfoot and boy do I want them to last forever. Again I think I'm -2 back on them 191s and ya they measure a little short too

-2cm sounds like a pretty safe bet if you're looking for good switch performance and you're coming off centre-mounted park skis, but if the ski is long for you, you could go all the way up to true centre. In contrast, if it's on the shorter side and you want to squeeze out some better pow and variable performance, going back to -3 or -4 would help.

I ended up doing -2 from true and I’ve loved everything about it. I have transitioned out of the park a bit but i still ski switch just as much as I do regs so I love this ski for ripping around the mtn. I wouldn’t go anything closer to center than -2 and you’d also be good at 4 back but for rails I’d go 2. Enjoy it!

I’m 5’11” and I got a 181 length ski so just about right, I ride 177 in the park right now.

I ski mainly east coast so I don’t have a ton of experience with them in pow but when I have the mount point does not take away from the ability to lean back at all imo. -2 does look and feel pretty damn near close to center so it’s perfect for me when I’m mainly skiing groomers, ripping switch laps and jumps/ rails occasionally. For someone skiing more steeps/pow I would want to lean closer to -4 but that’s just an opinion.
