I ski at fernie like 5 times a year. I'm mostly at kimberley. Fernie is the sweetest hill i have skied next to whistler. The bowls are tight and there is always like huge kickers up there.

Fernie last year was sooo sick. 30 pow days in a row. Kicking horse is sweet too, not as much snow as fernie though (last year anyways).
It's pretty dry here still..just a dusting on the mountain. Anyone who's comin out msg me.

I like Kicking Horse better. The great thing about it is that the way it is set up, you hike for 15-20 mins either way off the Gondola and you get a 1000-2000ft pow run. This year it will change a bit due to the added chair. It reduces hiking time but also less fresh. Thats ok, just makes it less of a hike into the next bowl. Definetly check out Super bowl. You go skiers right of the gondola and hike for 20 mins to the top of the peak. When you look into the bowl, you will get blown away. So much goodness. Bring gear though.
I dont really know Fernie well enough. I can never seem to find where the good stuff is. Someone enlighten me.

Yeah yeah yeah... everyone envies sir-sucks-a-lot-o-cock here... but that wasn't really the question... he wants to know about places to rip. I personally don't have a fucking clue.. all i know is that there are a ton of crazy places at both Kicking Horse and Fernie that very few people know about.

anyone know if its possible to rent a tranciever in golden or fernie? I just wanna be safe, but dont wanna dish out 300+ for a transciever to only use for a week a year. i think rude boys seven or some local shop would rent one out.

Fernie's park... licks. But the rest of the mtn. absolutley rips. The saddels on the new stuff that go into the old stuff are SWEET. They're best if you hike to a chute where no one has skied, there are some killer lines through there if you do a bit of hiking. You'll see where I mean when you see a map. I think they go from the new stuff (saddels) into Easter Bowl.

Oh the park isn't that bad, and this year *supposedly* they're dishing out 28000 bucks for a set of 15 REAL rails for a rail park on the mountain. And to back up this claim, one of the local shops has apparently been approached and asked if they would like to purchase advertising space on the new rails. Should be better this year.

since this got moved up...the 15 rails are actually 6 decent rails...a sweet gravity rail, a long flat, a battle ship, a kink and a couple short flats. The park is in decent shape but the pipe is a peice of shit.
