Funny story about a rail at my ski hill / lincoln off rails by accident

So me and my friends were hitting this pipe/tube feature. We all noticed that the whole rail would slide fine until just before the end. We would all just stick, luckily none us stuck too bad. We looked at the rail and there was like a dent or gash or rough part. It was very noticeable.

My place doesnt really care though. They leave their rails outside year round they get so rusty. I told a lift guy who also works with park crew i think and he goes, "I think its been there for a while".

Another side story about me:
I have done two Lincoln loops off rails this season due to sticking, anyone else?

All rails are kept outside for the summer unless being worked on. A little surface rust isnt too bad usually, but usually its more that the feature is properly rusted or just not smooth from a bur, getying hit, or getting an engle grinder take to it to "smooth" it.

Rust comes off pretty easy with a wire wheel. If they got them clean a at the end of the season or fall and then either put them in or threw some thin spray on them to keep them from rusting that can help. Also a thin coat of soray comes off on the slide suface real quick when it goes in.

Prolly needs a little grind and flap disc love.

Sorry to derail thread but yeah I know the vibes. Sticky festyre ir that one spot thats jackedand you pray you dont get caught up on it.

Sucks they don't keep after there rails though. I guess at least they have them. Although depending what state their in sometikes that might not be better safety wise but as least it's something to hit.

yeah the rail slides fine they grinded it down a while ago, but theres like a dent lol

True. Can they set it uo the other way so the dent it at the front where you jump over?

^^agreed.
if dent is close enough to the end that you're doing full lls off, surely you could maybe flip it 180? if you have a second tube, you could build a flat up or whatever combo you like and cover the dent with the other tube.
