I mean, if you want the bar down you can just ask. It's really not that crazy. No need to be aggressive on the internet later about it. Also if there's no line probably don't slide in to be the 4th person on a chair with people for know reason. I don't get that. Seems like the kind of guy that does that and that complains if anyone on the lift drinks a beer or lights a joint.
If dude is that high strung about the lift ride I can only imagine his comments about ticket lines, parking, reservations, and masks in general.
Meh, not to sure why people get so upset by the way some one looks when they ski. Skiing is already goofy as fuck to start with. We strap planks of wood covered in plastic to our feet and slide down the snow on the mountain. Not to sure that wearing your goggle strap under your helmet makes you look any more goofy than you already do lol.

As for bars, honestly idc really. Kinda depends on the situation. If it's got those foot rests then I definitely prefer to use them. If I'm riding with a bunch of boarders, I'll let them decide cuz I know the foot rests can get in the way a bit. Riding with kids or anyone else who wants it down, sure I'll consent. This year I haven't been touching the bar at all. If someone wants it down, they can, but zero percent chance I'm touching that bar that 1000 other folks have touched with their snotty gloves. The only time I prefer the bar is when the chair is covered in snow and slippery as shit.

It’s pretty much mandatory in europe, they swing down as you get on the lift.
In the Val Thorens/Courcheval area some of the ski school kids have little bibs put on them which have a magnet on the back which attaches to the seats on some of the chairs so they don’t fall out.
My brother hates the bar down, if you put it down he will just put it back up and it honestly just cringy. I was on the chairlift with my mom and my brother a couple weeks ago and my mom put the bar down and he put right back up🤦♂️

For the people making fun of him exposing his insta or whatever, what's the objective doing the exact same thing he does, but on the opposite side of the argument? That kind of guy is always going to be mad at something or somebody, there's just no point returning the favor to him. You can't reason guys like that so just move on, plus he doesn't seem to have any fun skiing anyway...
