Boots: Roxa Element for alpine, Roxa R3 for touring. Both boots come with GripWalk and ISO soles, but recommended not to interchange frequently - wouldn't want to anyway, goal here is consistency for all boots + bindings.
Bindings: P18 across the board, CAST on tour setup. Have both ISO and GW AFD for CAST, but only ISO (for now) on my other Pivots that would be mounted on alpine sets.
The question: are there benefits to GripWalk that make it worth sourcing additional sets of GW AFDs to GW convert all my Pivots? Or, should I just use the ISO on CAST, swap ISO soles on boots, and keep ISO across all sets?
Don't really have a scientific reason for having stuck with ISO for so long, other than I trust it more because it's what I've always used, and is an easy default setting for all boot + binding parts. I get that GW makes walking easier, but for actually skiing downhill, part of me distrusts GW just by the look of it - thicc boi here (190-200lbs in ski gear), butter / spin a lot and torque hard into the toe of my inbounds setup, so I have some prerelease concerns if I were to make the switch on all skis...
Anybody out there have some experience / knowledge for me? Thx in advance 😘
