Theres some songs from bob i like but overall reggae gets pretty repetitive imo.

so many songs sound so similar to eachother.

If you like it then im happy for you but imo without bob marley reggae would be pretty unremarkable.

Reggae is one of the most diverse music genres ever. To say that it all sounds the same is simply wrong, and name dropping Bob Marley makes you look like a reggae poser. No doubt his and the Wailer's music was incredibly revolutionary and responsible for popularising the genre, but reggae has so much more to offer.

Because noobs who don't know reggae list bob Marley as their favorite reggae. Saying all reggae sounds the same sounds like someone who says they like metal and then you put on a cannibal corpse song and they shit their pants.

It was a small show at a small bar my buddy used to own in Aspen. His set across the street at the Belly Up, our local music venue, got cancelled (I don't remember why). So my buddy asked him to play at the bar. Instead of playing, he just got wasted and then when he did play, his creepy old ass kept hitting on young women, he could hardly play, and his show as absolute garbage. He would literally stop playing to try and dance with the young women (some of which were my friends).

Colliebudz is another garbage reggae concert.

On the positive side, Stephen Marley, Steel Pulse, Richie Spice, and Anthony B put on the best reggae shows I've seen. Stephen is by far the best of his brothers at eerily sounding like Bob when he covered his Dad. I'd love to see Jimmy Cliff before he passes away. His shows always slip by me.

It was sexist as fuck, creepy as hell, and just sad to see. This was back in like 2007 or 2008. Colliebudz was also too fucked up to sing multiple times I've seen him.
