Customer brought these crispy BBR 7.9’s in to get mounted up with Attack 13’s (big score they got 15% off because there was a bit of rust on the tip)
anyone set anything better than this up all week?

Best I've done this season 💸
BradFiAusNzCoCaThere’s a pair of BBRs new in plastic in 179 at thrift shop in my town for 50€. I was debating it for a second

animatorIt’s crazy to me that Pivots have changed so little that legally we’re still allowed to work on and mount these, even if they’re 20 years old
BradFiAusNzCoCaIs that actually true? I thought bindings were no longer safe because of degradation of springs, plastics, etc. not because of changing tech?
animatorYou’re correct but since the design hasn’t changed it doesn’t show up on indemnification lists unless you’re talking like 30 years old
SuspiciousFishMy local shop wouldnt touch the bindings on my 4FRNT VCTs from 2007 when i got new ski boots because they couldnt look them up in the system.

TBONE902This also happened to me this week, someone brought in some pretty ancient Dynastars with an old Pivot 14, first look I was thinking no way but then checked the list, good to go.
Also Tyrolia SL series Jr bindings
BradFiAusNzCoCaI’ve got some Rossi FKS 120s (pivot 12) from 2016.. when should I retire them? I was thinking of going off the 7 year rule so 2023?
They’re still structurally very strong. I had some chewed pivot 14s from 2018 and the pressure from the arms on my fks was way better than the p14s. The p14s were from the recall year (although not part of the recall) and man the arms had Tiny wiggle after using the bindings for a couple of months. It was sketch. I got rid of them.
pinkcamo1000dude I bought rosi FKS 155 bindings off of some dude on NS, they had been used for 10 years by him, and they almost certainly came off of a pair of race skis before that. I used them for 3 seasons on my daily driver, had to replace a couple parts but they still work to this day. They're at least 15 years old at this point. idk about the lower din models with the plastic toe piece, but pivots/fks with the metal toe piece last a really long time
