Size 12.5 shoe 30.5 boot. Wide feet, need a park boot

i’ve been riding 2014 full tilt booters up until i tried to get new skis mounted and the guy refused as he said my boots were so worn that no one would mount them. i bought the full tilt descendant 100s. they’re supposed to be the widest fit and the maximum size full tilt goes to is 30.5. they don’t fit. and it doesn’t make sense. my booters are more roomy, and i’m pretty sure they’re 29.5s. What boot should i get?

Buy literally any other boot that does fit. Dont worry if it's a park boot or not.

You probably dont need a size 30, you should go to a boot fitter. I wear 11.5 shoes and a 27.0 ski boot.

Go to a bootfitter. To echo what @eheath said your boot's probably too big to start. I wear a 12.5 shoe and a 28.5 ski boot.

Holy shit do you really? That’s a crazy size down and my philosophy is always to try and size people down a little bit but that’s a lot. What’s your foot like?

Wide lol i wear 12s in some shoes mostly to compensate for wideness. I rode 28 for a long time and my buddy who fits boots suggested I size down when I got dalbello bosses like 8 years ago, went to 27 and never looked back.

i wasn’t clear enough. the descendants are too small

Did you heat mold the liners? If your Booters are from 2014 the liners are probably hella packed out which is why they feel roomier. Gotta break the descendants in, and 100% get the liners cooked.

I wear size 13 vans and wear a size 28.5 ski boot...your boots definitely aren’t too big length wise. Sounds like you should see a boot fitter

i know what you’re saying. i tried putting the 2014 liners in the descendant shell and it was still tight as hell. i’m pretty sure the 2014 shell is wider. And if i did heat mold then i couldn’t return them and i’m not sure they’d fit after the heat mold.

I wear a 9.5 shoe with super wide feet. My first two years skiing, I skied a 27.5 boot and felt some heel lift but didn't really think anything was wrong. I got new boots from a bootfitter and he put me in a 25.5 and now I think that may still be too long because I get some toebang if I land backseat.

No the 2014 shell is not wider. Normally a heat mold does not tie you to a boot, at least at my shop it doesn’t. Heat molds can be done multiple times so we don’t make customers commit to them if a heat mold doesn’t work. Intuition liners are super thick and plush before a mold, they pack out a whole lot after a mold and a few days skiing.

I edited my comment a bit to clarify that I was saying they’re not necessarily too big volume wise, but they are likely too big length wise. It definitely sounds like the descendant has lower volume in the bottom half of the shell than your old booters do (as you already said above in your other reply). If it’s way too low of volume you likely do need another boot but if it’s just a few areas, you could likely get them punched and expanded. (Although with your shoe size you pretty much 100% shouldn’t be in that long of a boot shell). With all that said, a boot fitter will definitely be the quickest fix for this issue

Anyway, I gotcha:

1. 12.5 shoes = not 30.5 boot. I wear size 14 most of the time and wear a 30.5 shell.

2. Park boots are just ski boots, get a boot that fits.

3. Sizing down is most likely better anyway, so RETURN THE BOOTS AND GO TO A BOOTFITTER.

4. Learn something about ski boots and buying them.

Return them and go to a bootfitter. Bootfitter will charge you to attempt to fix the boots you bought.
Imo start fresh and buy boots from a shop and they should take care of you.

The descendant is a different shell then the old booter so no it’s no going to fit the same.


beat thing to do is take the boots you have to a boot fitter and have them see if they will work for you. Luckily boots feeling too small is better than them feeling to big so that’s good at least. But if they are just not the right boot for you return them and get something which does work. From which ever brand fits the best.

Previous owner of a pair of FT booters in 2012. Never had a pair that destroyed my ankles like that.
Look into boot specs. Some brands offer a lineup of wide foot boots. Dalbello makes wider boots that work great. Make sure to get your foot mesures before even selecting a boot. It will save you from a lot of bs on an ill fitting boot

park boots aren’t really a thing, go to a boot fitter and get the one that fits best, I’m flat footed and went to find a new boot and the ft classic pro was perfect, but originally was gonna buy something online. Always go to a boot fitter

i didn’t want the FT for park advantage. More so comfort. I ended up going to a ski shop and getting some diabellos that can alternate flex from 80-100, and fit well. Appreciate the help
