doubleblackjackSo I’ve been learning new stuff on rails and boxes on my tele skis. If i dulled the edges, would it make a major impact on making tele turns? Or would it be better to tele mount some beater skis just for rails?
mrk127Depends if you care about hard snow carving or not
doubleblackjackI care, but I’m not carving too much. Like would i not be able to carve at all any more?
LemuelI was curious about this, as most tele skis appear to be mounted pretty far forward from what I’ve seen. I have a pair of Head Motörhead 102’s that I’m going to mount up, and this may also be a touring setup. Should I go around -2?

anders_aI even spent my summers in Telemark (the place)
JimbothesteezerThe mountain I work at has a giant group of 80 year old tele guys that always smell like herb
edainot even giving you shit this is the most core thing ive read on newschoolers
doubleblackjackAnyone skied line sakanas tele? I have a friends selling them and I’m considering buying them off him
SendyMcSendyfaceI haven't. but they look super fun, you should do it. I think the playful nature of that ski would be really well suited to tele.
appaAnyone able to weigh in on the classic Meidjo vs. Lynx telemark pin binding debate?
TheButterHashiraI got boots for 200 and skis for 50. I have got a solid enough turn down now I think I might get a nice set of skis/bindings. My scarpa boots are perfect though. Best fitting pair I have.
LemuelYea dude same here on the Scarpas. I have TX pros and they fit me like a dream

FenkLynx are so gas, they tuur well and are

beefier than meijdos forsure. Heres a clip of me hitting a rail sloppy on my tooring skis with lynx
ThegratefulskierLynx work on rails when they’re locked out and not thrown into too much of a spin. I honestly like that they release a little more than standard ntn or tele bindings.
FenkAgreed. The duckbill adjustable releasability of the meijdos is appealing but they feel so plastic-y.
I visited the 22 designs factory to get my outlaws repaired and checked out the updated lynx, snappier toe springs and an improved claw. Pricey tho
ThegratefulskierNot nearly as pricey for the industry workers. I bought a used pair of outlaws that might need to be taken in as well.
doubleblackjackMy outlaws creak when they flex, would they fix that if I sent them in to 22?
ThegratefulskierIdk but my pivot screws for the at mode are wobbly and I think it’s the little gold shims that needs replaced. Squeaky tele bindings have just always been a thing.
doubleblackjackDo you ski with or without brakes on your outlaws? I had wobbling problems when i didnt use brakes, but it went away with brakes on. Maybe that would work for you
SSteezleDoes anyone prefer 75mm over NTN? I've been on 75mm for three years now and tried one day demo'ing NTN and didn't like them, but I'm sure it was just the setup I was on. I have the AXLs and the Switchback X2s and love them both.

doubleblackjackI started tele’ing this year and cant even bring myself to 180 or 3 yet. Mad respect for those guys
bendy___I have a pair of old 4FRNT YLES with Marker Barrons on them that I rarely use. I'm thinking of turning them into a tele or NTN set up. Anybody got some binding/boot recommendations for a beginner or are most set ups fine for whatever skill level? My feet are pretty normal, would I be okay getting some boots online? Looking for some used gear to save some dough
doubleblackjackMost people use scarpa for ntn setups these days. I’ve heard good things about their tx pro and comp. I have scott voodoos and they are great too. Crispi usually has stiffer flex and a mediocre walk mode.
its a lot of personal preference, so it might not be the best for you, but the scarpa stuff is a really good all round boot for most.
Do some research before buying online. Some boots run small or big so just be aware of that
bendy___Good to know thanks! Did you size your Tele boots similar to your downhill boots? My regular shoe size is 10.5 but I run a 26.5 ski boot which is a size smaller I think. Do people usually go slightly bigger on tele boots though, so they don't pinch your toes?
