Definetly could learn from this. On all the clips i have took of me on rails i have pretty close feet

BruceDogFartSo this is my third or fourth year in the park and the season before last I learned to hit rails. Then just last season I caught on one and stopped trying rails at my resort but still rode the pvc ones in my backyard. So this year im still hitting the pvc ones and I want to get back on the metal ones but im a little iffy about it, any advice for this at all?

Completely forgot your worst fear of it. Think of it as another PVC that you just have to stay focused on. Do not look at bottom of your skis when grinding. Come up to rail with adequate speed and look about 2-3 ahead of where your jumping on. As soon as your on LOOK AT THE END OF THE RAIL. Its all in your head right now. Maybe also try detuning your edges. They are probably very sharp and catching you on metal. Just pedal your front foot and put it on its edge lightly and keep back ski flat. dont press hard on either. keep it a delicate balance. Before you know it you wont even be focused on whether you catch on the rail.

Another thing. Dont get used to go extremely fast. Go a moderate speed depending the rail. If its a large gap from the jump to the rail then go fast. If its a more midwest/urban feel than go medium speed so you have time to feel the greatness of grinding.

Detune the crap out of your edges

aluminum is hard

Try detuning them if you only ski park and do lots of rails
