TRIGGER WARNING!

Seriously if y'all think this is a great burger joint...lol you haven't lived. Burgers average- 5/10. Fries basically bland cardboard- 1/10.

Why tf is there such a cult following of this freaking place? It's nothing special at all. It is beyond overrated.

As a born-and-raised Californian, I completely agree with this. Nothing about the food is good at all whatsoever. Even the milkshakes taste like shit and those are supposed to be milk and ice cream. Fuck In-N-Out, Five Guys is way better.

I mean it's a pretty decent burger for the price, but I will agree that five guys is better. however, five guys is a LOT more expensive depending on what you order. Also I just really like animal style for some reason. And tip with the fries, order them extra crispy and the taste is like 100x better than the normal packing peanuts

Are the fries basically glorified veggie straws? yes. are they still delicious? also yes.

idk man, when it comes to a cheap, quality burger, in-n-out is hard to beat. Yeah yeah there's 5 guys, shake shack, etc. but all those places are like three times more expensive.

I grew up in a place with in-n-out, then moved to seattle (no in-n-out) and people totally hate on it. Definitely seems like the hate is born out of jealousy.

A huuuuuuge component to in n out is price. Yes, 5 guys is better. But I can get a shake, fries, and double-double for less than a burger at 5 guys. In n out competes with McDonald’s and that’s where it shines

Meh it's decent. I would never wait in a big line there. I would only go if i was driving by felt like it and there was no line. I used to drive by the one in carson when going shopping. There was a wendys right next to the arco. The wendys had no line. The in n out was always fucked. I think i went to that in and out maybe 5 times in the 3 years I lived there.

Idk it's def not terrible, but anyone who waits in a long line there is cooked.

I haven't been since they opened here. Is there still a line? IDK but I have no need to go over there and find out. At first people were waiting for hours there was so much hype. I've had it a bunch in Cali and agree that it's just fast food. also my fries tasted weird like fish last time I had it in Sacramento

Idk, some people have their heart set on a specific place and I don't get it. Maybe you want taco bell but there's a burger king or mcdicks with no line next to it. Idk, fuck waiting in a huge line for fast food though.

I get the novelty. If you've never been to one, go check it out enjoy. Beyond that though i dont get it.

Also agree Culvers is pretty solid. I think 5 guys is pretty good too just not that cheap but you get s shit ton if fries and the burgers are pretty big. At least you're full for 12 bucks or whatever.

When i visited LA two years ago, I was extremely underwhelmed. I'm from Cleveland, Ohio and we have this local chain called Swensons. It is cheaper and one best burger in the country one year. Their milkshakes also slap harder than in and out

basically any city within a day's drive from CA has been getting overrun with people from cali, people go in, people go out. Portland has seen a huge increase in population from california, its basically everywhere.

I know, they fucked over the sweet shooting area West of Utah lake because some asswipe lied and said his garage got hit by a bullet even though he lived 2 miles away and behind a hill.

Tell me if anyone else had an experience like this.

I grew up in the northern CA valley with absolutely nothing to do in my hometown. Like most high schoolers, I was broke and needed something to do with my friends. We'd pile into a car and go get in-n-out cuz it's cheap, cute girls at our hs worked there, and it waiting in line was just something to do. It was one of the only spots open late and Ellery would give me free fries. Pretty killer when you're 15. I got hella nostalgia and good memories for that place.

These days I wouldn't wait around in line for it, but I see lots of high schoolers in line whenever I drive past. It's got a cool local vibe that other chains just don't have.

I got buddies in Atlanta who would kill for Chik-fil-a because it's so ingrained in the culture down there. The lines are outrageous out here at CFA on the west coast. It's good, but I'd rather get Popeyes because I don't have that same nostalgia for Chik-fil-a.

I think it's pretty rare when a local chain actually lives up to the hype once it starts expanding nationally. Shake Shack is the only one I can think of

Today I happened to be in the area and waited only 20 minutes walking inside. The lady directing people said the drive-thru was almost an hour. Lazy people be lazy I suppose...

Yeah I grew up in almost the exact same situation, except I'm in the north bay and my town is probably a bit bigger than yours was. I definitely don't have that same experience with In-N-Out that you had tho, but I know a lot of people that either feel the same way or still love their burgers. I also find that both in-n-out and cfa have long lines all the time, but the cfa line takes a quarter of the time as that at in-n-out.
