Learning 540’s

It’s not the pop it’s spinning before you leave the lip. Your probably catching the inner edge assuming it’s your outside ski during the spin. You’ve gotta whind up and then pop and spin ass you tips kinda get to the tip of the lip or just barely start leaving it. Atleast that’s what helps me with stuff like that I’m no expert

That makes sense. I was doing it off a small jump therefore I was trying to wind up as much as possible and trying to spin with both edges pointing in.

When I was young learning 5's I only had small backyard jumps to learn on which meant spinning hard which is what is causing you to wind up and spin so hard early that you are catching and losing a ski on the lip. It will be easier on a slightly bigger jump like a table top - but have your 3's dialed 1st on it popping off the lip controlled (grabbing safety helps) and sticking them clean so you feel good and comfortable with speed then step it up popping using your legs the same but set harder for the extra rotation on a slightly bigger jump and it will all come together more easily.

just like how when u learn to sw lip you have to learn to pop first before rotating when your feet are close together if you don’t want to catch that inside edge and fall forwards.
