Burrito^ This. I work for Giro (and still rock a Combyn.) The Emerge is the same helmet with full MIPS Spherical padding in place of the Combyn’s foam.
KridetusWhy did giro stop making the combyn?
BurritoIt got revamped as the "Emerge" so we could add Spherical MIPS and because a lot of people complained about the Combyn's padding getting hard on particularly cold days (a problem I have never experienced.) The Emerge has the same shell (though slightly less flexy than the Combyn) and an arguably improved padding system since Spherical MIPS takes into account rotational impacts.
KridetusI really liked the feature of the combyn that it can take hits forever
BurritoSame. I’m pretty sure both of the foam layers in the Emerge are EPP, which is multi-impact.
KridetusIs epp multiimpact
Cole_E_KaufmannI’ve been trying to find a giro Combyn but can’t anywhere, anyone know of something similar?

BurritoNot always. As I understand it, and I could be wrong here because I work mostly on the softgoods teams, you can formulate EPP in different ways on the sliding scale of lighter/more brittle/single-impact to heavier/softer/multi-impact. It doesn't look like the Emerge is specifically rated for multi-impact, but in my (completely anecdotal and non-legally-liable) experience I think it would be okay for at least few low to mid energy hits.
KridetusOk cool. I wish that giro would start making the combyn again
