Just set a goal to ski in every state that has a ski area before I get old. States like New Mexico, Arizona, and Nevada really made me think this would be fun (makes the non-skier scratch their head) and now I'm curious how many people have skied in a ton of states or if anyone has a similar goal.
I've thought of something similar as well. I had plans for Taos in NM last year but covid hit and now I'm trying this yr. So far I think I have 10 states

Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado and California. I need to step up my game!
I've got Minnesota, Wisconsin, Montana, and Wyoming. I initially counted Colorado but I was in probably first or second grade so I figured I should go back so I can actually remember it. I just graduated from college in MT and moved back to MN so I'm kicking myself for not checking Idaho off the list.
You know now that you mention it, I just need Nevada and Arizona before I got each one west of the Great Divide.
That would be quite the bragging right!

Ski Nevada! Mt. Rose and Diamond Peak are pretty easy to check off the list if you make a Tahoe trip. Rose is an underrated resort in the area - the chutes are no joke.

Turner and Whitefish is likely the only trip I will take this winter.
Come ski Arizona and New Mexico. You’ll probably be pleasantly surprised. Taos is a given. High line ridge is an iconic spot but there are other great spots in the state as well. Arizona is not a massive ski destination by any means but you will for sure find yourself surprised by boot deep powder and an amazing view of the Grand Canyon with 12,000 ft elevation and plenty of terrain. If you’re doing a bucket list type thing, you could go to Tucson and ski Mt Lemmon which I believe is the southernmost skiing in the US. I wouldn’t recommend it thought haha.
